✅Click the link to get the BEST price on the Kensui EZ-Vest! - Kensui EZ-VEST: www.garagegymreviews.com/go/k...
The Kensui EZ-VEST is the only weighted vest of its kind that uses Olympic Weight Plates for resistance. This means that instead of buying specialty plates that slide into the vest and can only be used for that vest, you can use the same plates you use on your barbell.
I've had the EZ-VEST Max and EZ-VEST Pro from Kensui Fitness for four months now and have used it for pull-ups, push-ups, dips, running, and even squats. Although I was skeptical at first, this is much more practical than I initially assumed and I'd like to see it in more home gym setups.

Love the vest I’ve had the pro version for about 6-7 months, only thing I would advise people to be aware of, do not ever take off the weight in the front before removing the vest. Almost like a Mini guillotine especially with anything over 50 pounds

I was surprised Coop didn't mention it. You can clearly see him about to guillotine himself but they cut it in editing at 2:27 and 3:57 and 12:00 . He should've warned potential buyers about this, no way it didn't happen to him. At least when he throws a 45 lb on his back with the armpit straps loose he has the cameraguy to spot for him.

This is a gamechanger. Actually makes a weight vest a viable part of an average home-gym as opposed to it being one for the enthusiasts. Makes you think about why the fuck no one thought about making it sooner edit: ah, that expensive, ey

One thing other thing that is a benefit of this vest, is that you don't have to lug a heavy weighted vest to the gym. Just pop this in your bag and use their weights. Perfect!

Dont forget pushups with Parallette bars. This will give you the height you need to get that full ROM with that front sleeve in still attached. Bonus: Use this instead of a weighted Ruck to get even more weird looks from the neighbors when walking around town.

I bought an EZ Vest about a year ago. Totally versatile. Game changer for any calisthenic exercise. I use it for push ups, dips, sit ups, stairs, and hill running. It's the best way to make strength progress in push ups because I can actually go to failure after 7-10 reps rather than doing gobs and gobs of them.

Have been using the Pro model for about a month. Generally agree with Coop's review, but would add: Getting the vest on and off with heavy weights is a lot more awkward than Coop describes (but, hey, Coop "benches 500 pounds" so nothing can stop him!). I also think the limitations of the shortest sleeves are pretty serious. Like, if you have a 25 lb Rogue 6-shooter on the sleeve, you will not be able to add ANY lighter Rogue plate to the sleeve. Finally, the vest feels fine and balanced for weighted push-ups with one plate on the back, but if you put only weight on the front, the vest will slip down awkwardly -- UNLESS you really tighten it down, and if you really tighten it down, it sort of compresses the lungs a bit.

I bought mine when they first came out. I use it weekly as, for lack of a better term, weighted body weight exercises are a big part of my program. I love it. I have weighted vests (10, 20 and 55 lbs) I've had over the yrs and this is the most versatile. I still use the others for certain exercises but for dips,v pull ups and squats over 55 lbs this is the ... The fit and finish is very good. I found the price fair. There really is nothing else on the market like this. Love it.

I think it's well worth it to have a weighted vest option for calisthenics and even just walking. The thing that stopped me from buying other vests was the exorbitant cost of the custom plates that honestly have highly limited functionality. I'd already put money into buying barbell plates so it just made sense to go with the Kensui. The vest itself looks streamlined and highly functional without the janky or 'tacticool' design elements that are often present in vests that mimic body armor plate carriers. Thanks for this video; it was helpful because the Kensui vest I bought didn't come with any instruction manual and the videos on the manufacturers official YT page seem to be more about potential workout options than how to set the vest up when you first receive it.

I have a couple of weight vests and one of the thing I like about them is that they keep the weight close to my body (in fact this is why I purchased a plate carrier after already owning a weight vest...it was less weight but allowed more dynamic movement due to being not as bulky). This product looks interesting but I can, with less expense in the weight range this would allow exercise with a dip belt. For more dynamic exercises, it seems too unwieldy. I do like that it uses standard weight plates, but the design is limited.

Given that there are vests that go to 100lbs and the $140 starting price on this, I just don't see it appealing to many people. It just seems like the awkwardness/discomfort of wearing plates compared to a regular weight vest just wouldn't be worth any potential minor savings. Mind you, I don't know much about weight vests and don't own one (though I have looked into them a few times) so my perceptions could be way off. Looking forward to the comparison video.

Seems pretty cool. I've just been using my goruck rucker whenever I do weighted calisthenics, might switch to this. Coop did you find the weight to be ultra secured on your back when you were running? Hopefully someone I know gets one and I try it out before I buy lol. I remember seeing a DIY of something similar to this years ago where somebody cut the sleeves off a barbell and I think they welded them to two separate vest plates and just somehow bonded the metal to the Cordura on the vest I think or they just used gorilla tape and did a red n green special that never aired. I dont know how it held up but I remember watching him doing pullups with a couple of plates.

I got the high-end model plus the longer posts awhile back and I’d give it 3 out if 4 stars. It’s a bit awkward and cumbersome when you go heavy and it’s hard and weird-looking to use on jogs outside especially when you wear a jacket over it. It makes you look like the Hunchback of Notre Dame. With jogging, I didn’t need the longer post but I also didn’t like how my bodyheat got trapped in my chest area. One benefit of jogging with the weights on the chest area did make it more challenging and gave my intercostals and diaphragm a workout.

I got one and I like it. One problem is that the vest and any equipment you order from that company to use with it takes half a year to ship. But it has been very useful with home workouts and adding weight to other exercises that were previously limited by grip strength or holding weight up.

Year and a half to ship?! That's unacceptable. Are you sure about that?

@@ronmessico8012 it was half a year, and was during the height of the pandemic. Things may have improved since then.

Nice! But they should have also supplied 2 attachments for 1 inch plates so that the vest becomes truly universal in application. Alot of people have just one inch plates/ pig iron at their homes/ home gym set-ups...please initiate this request with the Company and I am sure they will multiply their sales and meet the requirements of a myriad of people...

Coop something else to consider is this vest isn't well made for larger guys with bigger than average backs, shoulders or neck. For instance I cant do pullups with mine because the straps choke me from my shoulders pushing the straps into my neck. I am 235lbs and load it up with 35s. They recommend removing all the padding and it's terrible. Plus the straps don't fit for larger backs as well.

Is anybody else having issues with the new, short XT sleeves from Kensui not threading into the MAX V2's front or back vest plates? The longer sleeves that came with the vest work fine - they thread in smoothly and lock in tightly, and overall, the MAX V2 vest seems to be a great product. But the pair of XT sleeves I bought from Kensui (and the 3 additional sleeves they've sent after I contacted customer support) seem to have thread outer diameters too small to engage the threads on the vest plates. Using calipers, I've measured the ODs of the threads on the original sleeves and the XT sleeves I've gotten from Kensui. All of the XT sleeves have threads with significantly smaller outer diameters.

Thank you Coop. Nice 80s montage and production. You're jacked camera guy must be working OT with the increase in production and the frequency of uploads.

I recently got my Kensui EZ-VEST Pro [110lb] today and it's hard to keep your scapula retracted when doing Pull Ups and difficult to get my chin above the bar. You need a weight at the front for the Vest to eventually distribute the weight. I would use the vest mostly for Weighted Push-Ups, Dips, and GPP. I'm sticking to the Weighted Dip Belt for Pull-Ups
