My favorite episode of Adam 12 is "The Search" when Malloy loses control of his patrol car while chasing a suspect and crashes into the woods. While Malloy is slowly dying Reed refuses to give up. When Reed finally finds him Malloy says that's my partner. Best episode ever.

From what I recall, the show was set to go for the 1975-76 season but it was decided to stop and put it into syndication based on the popular ratings it had, McCord was bummed as I am sure a lot of other fans, I could be wrong but that's how I heard it ended. The last two episodes were about Reed earning the medal of valor for saving Malloy.

I watch it everyday..records every episode automatically..yes that show should have been on many more years.... it has more of an old timey classic feel in the earlier years..started in 68 ..wish it had started in 63 or thereabouts and run til at least 78-9..great show..love the characters they portray good cops in a time when things were different..a time when things were modern but not too modern...the 60s and 70s the perfect era ,the best music, cars ...and people. When people were real. Miss those days, and Malloy and Reed.

Half the engineers over 50 will say they chose that endeavor because of Mr. Scott from Star Trek. Paramedics and firefighters over 50 say it was because of the show Emergency that they chose that profession. Many law enforcement officers over 50 will tell you Adam 12 was the reason they chose to wear a badge. Who says TV is a bad influence?

Currently "Adam 12" is running on ME TV at 5 PM PST. I never tire of watching the episodes when I can. It shows the peace officers policemen used to be. It's wonderful for a fellow actor to give tribute to another actor with whom he worked on a long lived show. These are great memories Mr. McCord is giving. As a kid growing up in the 70s and 80s, I was introduced to Adam 12 reruns. Years later as a soldier in the Army Military Police corps in the 90s I rediscovered the show on TV Land on cable. I watched the show again in my barracks room. What a wonderful thing it was for me to find myself actually doing the same kind of work that my old tv police heroes were doing. In retrospect I really wish I went into law enforcement in civil life. In these days of attacks on Police, much like in the late sixties, we need to rededicate our respect and devotion to law enforcement. I know we will, because we are Americans and the Police Officer is an American icon and hero. I was a Military Policeman, "Assist, Protect and Defend", I was a policeman in the Army and I am proud of it! "Of the troops and for the troops!"

What a lovely testament to Marty Milner and his career from his close friend, Kent McCord. I’m too young to remember MM’s pre-Adam 12 work (except for the occasional Route 66 rerun or movie on a streaming service) but Adam 12, along with Emergency!, shaped my earliest views of what the ideal first responders should be. I tend not to get stuck in nostalgia for nostalgia’s sake (there’s no such thing as “the good ol’ days”), but I’m currently in an Adam-12 rewatch and am impressed by how well it holds up as entertainment and as a look inside police work in the trenches. Most law enforcement procedurals focus more on detectives than on the uniformed officers, which makes what Jack Webb, Robert Cinader, Martin and Kent (and many others) created all the more memorable and important. Plus, the relationship between Malloy-Reed/Milner-McCord defined TV partnerships. (Only DeSoto-Gage/Tighe-Mantooth from Emergency! -another Webb-Cinader creation-matches it.) RIP Martin Milner.

We ran accross the street to get their autographs and shake their hands. That was a big thing to us.

“To Protect and to Serve” I was just a toddler, but I remember the whole family gathering to watch Adam-12. What made it such a great show? The casting was PERFECT. The events were realistic and dramatic. McCoy and Reid were in command…of themselves first. Discernment, respect, strength (both were very athletic), and the dialogue!!! I remember McCoy arresting a woman once and her telling him that a lady should NEVER be treated like that. He agreed! 😂 My children have learned to respect police, firemen, military, etc. And they’ve done so because they realize that the words on the door are true! “To Protect and to Serve” Adam-12, and Jack Webb’s other shows, were a window to watch my heroes. And my children, over 50 years later, feel the same about those shows, and about the real people they represent! God Bless the ones who protect and serve us!

Love the presentation by "officer Reed". I loved the whole show. However, If I were packing during this beautiful presentation I would have put a lead slug right behind the ear of the JackASS who kept standing up during the filming. God rest you Officer Malloy, even though you are a private citizen in this show of very well done for our boys in blue, so glad I was able to see you for years when I was younger. Fiction in this character is actually part of the police officer's life. I remember the first time I saw you in the old-old movie, Life with Father. You were just a 14 year old kid. You did great! Bless you, and I hope you are in the arms of the Father now!

Me and my brother met Mr. Milner at the Fred Hall sports fishing show at Long Beach, Ca. back in the late 1990's. My brother got a pitcher with him and got his autograph too. What a grate guy. We listen to him on a fishing radio show called Let's Talk Hook Up. We were very sadden when he past away. Rest In Peace Marty. Fish On.

Still hard to believe that Martin is gone from this earth. But his spirit will live on among those who knew and loved him. Such a wonderful man - Kent did a nice job remembering him in such a loving way. Adam-12 is still teaching us to this day. Rest in peace Mr. Malloy.

We didn't know him. There was no way to really know him. Milner was an actor -- but he created no real-life scandals and we now look at his career with affection. Same with Kent McCord. Two guys who were not cops but played cops. They both stayed out of Hollywood scandal. Good on 'em. It means if we looked up to them as upright, forthright TV cops, we now can say with certainty -- we were not duped.

Milner had 2 of the greatest tv shows ever. One drove around in a car with George Maharris, the other he drove around in a car with Kent McCord.

I remember watching Adam-12 as a kid and it's now on ME-TV at 5 and 5:30 pm on week days. I like to see the old cars on the streets and a lot of actors played bit parts, later they became famous.
