Looking back on this video, it really made me tear up. Momota could’ve been so much more, but just because of a traffic accident, that one incident…it ruined his whole career. I really pity this man, your influence on the sport will never be forgotten.

It's clear that Momota is a real potential player at the age of 24, he's beaten Lee Chong Wei, Chou Tien Chen, Chen Long, Viktor Axelsen, etc in the Thomas Cup 2018. If he keeps playing like this, soon or later he will be the next left-handed legend like Lin Dan

From these slow-mo videos, you can see how skillful Momota was in executing these sharp net skills. Tumbled all the way or hairpin shots so tight to the net when it matters. Look at how bad CL wanted to win that Thomas Cup match. He just couldn't help with Momota's strategic placement of shots. People who play badminton competitively, or at least know the Badminton basics understood how difficult it is to play like Momota or Lin Dan - that type of natural-very-calm movements on court. Momota, the only player who's close to Lin Dan's capability of court movement reading, sharp net skills, natural movement and very calm. Momota sealed all attacking player's openings to attack him - LCW, Viktor, CTC etc..and those who don't know wondered why did not these attacking players attacked Momota with their usual aggresive plays. Momota and Lin Dan - the only two players who could neutralize shots by attacking players so efficiently. I'm so looking forward what strategy Lin Dan is gonna use against Momota.

@@erikandreasbonde551 Lol. English is just a language. Your personality and intent can be shown through any language, and Momota's choice of words is way better than Axelsen's even if he speaks Japanese. He's a really humble player unlike the arrogant Axelsen.

@@erikandreasbonde551 Axelsen is arrogant. So is Vittinghus. You'll learn that from their comments on LCW last year. They said that Danes can defeat Malaysia whenever they feel like. This was the reason LCW was so animated that day when he beat Axelsen. Axelsen starts smiling (acting like it's a piece of cake when he goes on a run of points against even good ones like Momota). Vittinghus starts celebrating pre-maturely (when he almost won against Momota) and gets his a** whooped by Momota. I can bring a ton of points to prove my point but they just won't work if Axelsen is your favorite.

Momota is the king of Net. His skills are unique but as far as LinDan is concerned.. He's way ahead. Momota is what he is... Lin Dan is Lin Dan. LinDan has the strongest defence. I bet if anybody can match him 👍

010 sICK, Momota was banned for only a year. He spent 2017 traveling everywhere, playing many smaller tournaments, working his way back up the rankings so he can enter major tournaments again, only reaching that point 3 months ago (Asia Championships in late April). I would not underestimate the effect that experience had on him. It looks to me like it made him very determined. Clearly he lost weight, and my guess is he trained extremely hard on every part of his game. Within 3 months of being back on the circuit, he wins the WC. I think you can read that as "you shouldn't have banned me, see what a mistake you made".

Definitely Lin Dan. LCW doesn't play patience game like Momota and Lin Dan. LCW is good at offensive skills but lack in long rally and court movement reading like Momota and Lin Dan.

Uprising player like Momota will give a huge impact and perspective to the top players like LCW, Chen Long, Lin dan and etc after he was banned 1 year from badminton tournament. *Momota needs to prove himself by winning 3 Olympic Gold medals to beat Lin Dan or 3 Olympic Silver medals to beat Lee CW.* That means he has to win 12 years in a row coz Olympics is held every 4 years. Will he still be around that long?? I very much doubt it coz he is already 24 yo.
