The KY U.M.C. Annual Conference met in Covington, KY from June 9th/10th to 12th, 2024. In this clip, during a June 12th plenary session, the body of clergy and lay delegation from across Kentucky discussed and deliberated a motion by “Nelson”, concerning the recent worldwide United Methodist Church General Conference’s decisions for total liberalization, and how the Book of Discipline, Paragraph 2549, could be used. The vote was nearly evenly split: 227 affirmative, 205 negative, 217 votes were needed to pass. 432 total votes. The body passed the “Nelson Motion”. This issued an exploratory inquiry to KY Bishop, Cabinet, and Trustees: to use Paragraph 2549 to allow churches that desire to leave the U.M.C. by means of lawful contractual Charter closure, and to resell the properties back to local persons as a means and way to disaffiliate; semi-bypassing the U.M.C. Trust Clause. Another motion followed to try to curb such efforts. The G.C.‘s Judicial Council (“Supreme Court” of the U.M.C.) has yet to render, as of this date, a final ruling on whether P. 2549 can be used for such means of departures (with properties) or not. This action by the KY Annual Conference issued an inquiry to explore such measures. Many people in KY Methodism and others, may be seeking this particular clip and it may be hard to locate out of 3 days of conferencing and limited content left available online. This should be a matter of transparency.
DISCLAIMER: The posting account does NOT necessarily agree or disagree with what is said, displayed, or implied in the video, but rather it is intended to be informative/transparent information/easily found. If entities find cause to question the validity of the content being reposted: then it is issued to such persons/entities to *post your own video of this vital standalone segment*. And leave it up! Because it is a long-standing position and habit of General Conf. Jurisdictional Conf. & Annual Conferences to not leave videos up very long. In today’s world, we should be able to go back and find full, unedited, Conference videos from as far back as social media existed. Transparency should be important, upheld, and one questions why the videos are routinely removed and rare to be found, *anywhere, online, from past or present conferences(?) Persons with integrity would find that curious…What is there to hide? There will be no financial benefit to the posting account for this content: therefore it is of little benefit to try to take it down. There are players that are trying every direction to keep people tied to this *new denomination, and holding captive its members and properties. This information should be readily available. It’s a copy of what already exists, but a segmented version so people can more easily find this particular clip, as many churches and persons are interested. It scares some that people want to know how to exit. But they should be given the right to know and what their options are. Not to mention: a nation designed and purposed for freedom, and freedom of information: it would be unjust to deny persons simple access to such content. Whether a person likes or dislikes a particular vote, there are a lot of people that are seeking and desire this particular content/segment, deliberations, and outcomes. Trust should be built, via transparency, verses continuing to hush everything and hover, control, and the U.M.C. PR machine ever minimizing what’s said by United Methodists. Instead of further damaging local clergy and laity’s trust in the leadership of the denomination, and questioning their integrity, as was noted by Kentucky clergy/laity in this video: allow people to view this particular clip freely and without having to sort through 4 hours of footage. Whether the entity reposts their own version, or leaves this one present here, does not matter: Let the people of Kentucky Methodism, or those interested, to understand verbatim, witness it for themselves with out the PR filter: what was discussed and decided upon and the realities therein for them and their local churches. God bless! #annualconference #2024 #Kentucky #unitedmethodist #disaffiliation #paragraph #2549 #closure #closing #annual #conference #whathappened

As painful as this discussion is, to all concerned, I appreciate that it was put on KZfaq. Thank you.

The little guy at the end, John, is dangerously close…if not all over…saying that the Holy Spirit calls sin good. That’s unforgivable.
