I want to say all Americans. This bill is not only in Kentucky, Florida, Texas and other Republican states. This law is needed in all 50 states and all countries of the world right now!

anyone under the age of 18 isn't allowed to get gender affirming surgery anyhow. You can only get surgeries over that age, some places not even until you are 21 (especially for biological females). Gender affirming care for children includes hormones (which mimic the exact natural process of puberty, and gradually increases over time the same way hormones would in normally. The hormones provided are also those which everyone has. Females have testosterone in their bodies as well, just in lower amounts obviously as males. Males have estrogen and progesterone, which one needs to make testosterone). Also what about cisgender people who go through with surgeries that completely alter their bodies? Should that be illegal? Should plastic surgery, breast implants, any of that be illegal? Or just for trans people?

Because until very recently, it isn't socially okay to be LGBT anything. You had to hide your true feelings and identity from everyone else and even then, other kids can smell the overcompensation unless you are very, very lucky. Kids, especially boys, are preyed upon for even the slightest effeminate behaviour patterns. I am given to understand that it isn't as bad today, but when I was a kid, it was terrible. Kids can be cruel.... utterly and completely cruel. Back then, you hid your LGBT status as deeply as you could and even when you dot hat, people sometimes pick on subtle hints you didn't know you were broadcasting and will give you hell for them with all manner of bullying, slurs, and social ostracization, which collectively are the worst thing imaginable for youth. Put simply, the culture didn't support people like us back then and many never managed to notice we existed except for the unlucky who got outed. You either hid your real feelings or your social life tanked... hard. Today, the world is more accepting and we don't have to hide who we are anymore. The culture is different now. This is why we're loud and proud now because now we don't have to put up with the coercion to stay in the closet or otherwise wear a mask to pass as one of the straight, cis majority. We're over it and we're over the deep depression it puts on us. Trans people are, in fact, at a higher risk of suicide because of the fact that being inherently wired as the opposite gender when your body say differently alone is rough on the psyche, especially a young person's, combined with the bullying and ostracizing they go through on no other basis than they are different. Top this off with certain areas having little to no easy access to gender affirming care and you have a recipe for 'giving up' and resorting to the simplest method of ending the suffering. Our quality of life increases when we have that care readily available, although I don't believe that children should undergo medical transition (even if most of us wish we did as adults in hindsight because of the physical effects of the first puberty are usually permanent except for secondary sex characteristics like muscle mass and fat redistribution) unless a skeptically-inclined pediatric shrink certifies that it isn't some other condition masquerading as gender dysphoria.

Yea. No suicides then, no beating up queer kids, no trans people ever existed before. I am sure of it. Remmember the survivor bias: "Back in the day we did dangerous stuff and we turned out fine. Yes because you are the ones who survived."

This "child protection legislation" will cause many kids to suffer and cause some to DIE. Stealing proven life-saving medical care from CHILDREN is absolutely depraved.

Its language specifically targets gender reassignment and any other euphemisms for it. Simple as that. It automatically IS considered Anti-trans, intervening reasoning notwithstanding. To be fair, I agree children shouldn't transition without a pediatric shrink with a skeptical position meticulously weeding out EVERY possible disorder or neurological condition which could masquerade as gender dysphoria before ever recommending transition prior to puberty. Under a stricter medical standard, I guarantee you Trans-kids will be an even smaller minority than they actually have been because of the mountains of disqualifiers that only stop being disqualifiers after they've grown up and turn out to still have the predisposition toward the opposite gender's thinking, behaviour, and cultural stereotypes despite conditions which disqualify a child. Trust me. It makes a difference. Autism of any flavour can be one of those disqualifiers and could still be one as an adult depending on where on the spectrum one is. Same with literally any other neurological or mental health condition. Much of the time, things which masquerade as gender dyphoria do no t last into adulthood and it is possible to have real gender dysphoria comorbid with other conditions. For the transgender community, such strictures on diagnosing and following treatment would be beneficial because it'll also weed out most if not all 'detransitioners". Only a fully neurotypical and mentally sound kid with gender dysphoria could pass and that's a really tall order to the point of such strictures being an effective ban without actually inspiring people to turn to violence against trans adults, like I am afraid laws like the one talked about here very well might lead to. Basically, you don't want to pass laws that directly throw the hammer down on a specific demographic because that hurts that demographic, does NOT come from a place of genuine concern nor compassion, and inspires opposers of that demographic to harm the adults of that demographic. Then you end up with a federal civil rights nightmare. Don't repeat history here. Play it smart and do the actually right thing here.

The law simply protects children against making life altering decisions such as sexual reassignment or transitioning until they reach adulthood. We have no issue with requiring age limits for purchases of alcohol, firearms or serving in the Military or tobacco use or voting. Why should this issue be any different? It is insanity to argue that children at this stage of mental development should determine their lot in life and be empowered to make life altering decisions that will affect them in adulthood. That's what parents are for and what they do, they guide and assist their children by making tough decisions the child is not yet mentally equipped to make. Certainly once that child has become an adult he or she is free to live by a preferred lifestyle. When we consider what is the real truth of the matter it boils down to "Nature vs Nurture". One can see the push back of the "Trans" activists clearly and it seems to be a push for the "nurture" agenda. These individuals likely already know from experience that Transgenderism can be promoted by nurturing those of an influential age rather than letting a natural development progress proceed. This law protects children from that unnatural influence and defeats the agenda of the "Trans" activists who wish to influence children in this way. Ask yourself, "Why else would they be so angry?" The plan to normalize deviant behaviors by introducing children to that behavior has been prevented by law. Again, when the child reaches adulthood, they are free to have alcohol, tobacco, firearms, vote and choose the lifestyle in which they are most comfortable if that is the "Trans" lifestyle then so be it. To see it any other way one may as well argue the drinking age for alcohol and owning firearms should be dismissed as well. Federal issue? Not in reality.

Children aren’t legally allowed access to trans medical care. The only thing they can access is puberty blockers - of which are also given to tonnes of non-trans kids too who experience hormone imbalances. No one ever said that under 18s are transitioning so this is very dangerous misinformation.
