Good, if children aren't old enough to vote, enlist in the military, buy a pack of cigs etc then they definitely don't need to be able to make life altering decisions like changing their gender. Fully agree they need to be an adult to make the decision.

My sister was a major tomboy until the age of 16. Dirty nails, she would fight with the boys, hated dolls or any girly things. She would hang out with me, her brother, and my friends and do all the things we did. Mud, cars, tools, building stuff, pranking, the works. Doll houses, ponies and princess dresses were not her thing. Around 18 things took a drastic turn. She all of a sudden became interested in her looks, clothes, started hanging out with girls, etc. From 20 to 28 she modeled for Neiman's, had incredible success with men. Today she is 36, a happily married, kids, as straight as an arrow and $500 an hour construction lawyer. By today's insanity she would have been labeled as gender "dysphoric", put on meds and driven insane and ruined by idiots. Over time, people change. Its absolutely unforgivable to do to a child, something like hormonal treatments, when their minds are not even close to mature to provide educated consent. In adolescence we change our mind a thousand times about a thousand things and doing / following a path based on what you see at that age and that is irreversible, is abominable and should be outlawed before the age of 21. Its like holding a kid to what they want to do for a living at age 14, for the rest of their lives just because they show a certain inclination for it at a young age.

As an outsider, Its weird that Americans are obsessed with this topic 😂 ......

Because Jazz Jennings took puberty blockers, her male genitals didn't grow enough for them to fashion an adult sized hole to approximate female genitals. Additionally, the hormones she now takes have no interaction with it, she must dilate it to keep it from healing shut, and hydrate it for the rest of her life. The surgery was botched 3 times. She was affirmed from the age of 2, with no clue of what it would entail. More education on trans reality is needed, and coverage like this fails to accurately inform people of the many risks.

Well done Kentucky! Sterilisation of children must be stopped.

When addressing them you have to use their pronouns --> Violation of freedom of speech Want to use any bathroom --> Violation of basic privacy laws Want to teach children that gender variation can exist without consent from parents --> Violating parents' right to parent. The list goes on. If you believe you are lgbtq - good. You are free to live however you want. Don't push your values/beliefs on others.

The vast, I mean vast majority of Americans stand with you, Kentucky. Way to stand against the liberal insanity. This is coming from a liberal voter who will never vote blue again.

So basically gender affirming care for minors means allowing kids to have life altering medical procedures at an age when they are not deemed old enough for legal consent. I honestly don't understand why this would be a contentious matter at all. I think adults can do whatever they want with their bodies, in as much as they are fully informed of the consequences and are deemed to be mentally fit to make these decisions (aka not under the influence of substances, or in a mentally altered state). Minors need to be protected for their own good, that's a basic tenant of parenthood, and well a basic fact recognised by all societies. What if further down the line, the minor changes his/her mind, as a parent how would you live with the responsibility of having caused potential sterility and/or maiming of your kids sexual organs? It baffles me this would even be an issue to discuss.

I'm an outsider, from a third world country, and in shock at disbelief at how important this "issue" is in the USA, a first-world country deemed "progressive" and "democratic." Where I come from, people face day-to-day problems like hunger, poverty, crime, unemployment, inefficient transportation system, and corruption. Is America the model of a first-world country that is already so progressed and comfortable that its people started fabricating and weaving so-called issues, oppression, victimhood, and marginalization? If USA is the living example of a progressive country, then I'd rather stay in a third world country rather than see myself in an environment where moral decline is evident, where up is down and down is up, where good is bad and bad is good, a country where ideologies are so radical as to have upended and turned upside down all the good traditions and values that have enriched the western society during its periods of flourish, and those are unyielding knowledge, truth, logic, nationalism, love for God, love for one's craft, and love for one's neighbors. If the Roman Empire is any indication that a society that reached the peak of comfort and luxury will progress into decline, corrosion of morals, and ultimately, self-cannibalization into oblivion, then I guess USA today is nearing its Roman Empire phase of self-decadence, confusion, and distortion of truth. It is sad seeing USA so divided, so confused, so angry at illusions and ghosts. They have forgotten what it means to truly live that they now live in a self-made world akin to a house of cards. Tip one card and watch it crumble before your very eyes.

As a non-American, i dont even know what's the future behold for this country, as well as the rest of the world as most other countries really looking up upon this country.....but to be at this silly state...very saddening. Its a matter of time before you can't even talk to anybody before confirming their language and are they identified as a human to begin with.

I took a course on children (minors) and self harm and what baffles me is the professionals know that emotional regulation isn't instinct, it has to be taught and practiced. They have dbt, dialect behavior therapy in simple workbooks to learn it. Why isn't that a first focus for drs, therapists, schools, instead of politics using cult ideologies; which don't belong in school and that latter has a high after the fact suicide rate.
