I guess a Slam Ball is basically a giant sand bag, made out of the same material they use to line self-sealing military fuel tanks. Thank you once again for showing me yet another cheaper alternative to body armour! Although with a couple of those strapped to my chest, I reckon I will quickly appreciate how much Dolly Parton suffered for her art.

@@alf3071 That would end of doing armor made of glass... as glass is litteraly sand. but the main problem with such thing is that the sand is not "fix" and so all the weight could go in one place and lift the other side. but to be honest, what make a tank strong is not the alliage used (steel or else) but the way it's positionned. an Abrahm american tank is not more stronger than a panzer 4 from WWII, it's just the position of the armor that make it stronger and resistant. that work with everything, such as a square is less resistant as a triangle and such XD

Also homogeneous steel was used in WW2 and through the 70's changing bit by bit, modern armour is very different, stronger with very different methods and reactions, a mix of composite and explosive reactive armour which is more effective and tougher then WW2 tanks using now 80 year old tech.bye bye now ;)

even the best 50 BMG probably wouldn't have worked, either. Sandbags are really good against bullets. Perhaps surprisingly, arrows are much more efficient at penetrating sandbags. Check out Todd's Workshop (medieval weaponry channel) or search "todds workshop sandbags", he did a collaboration with another gun channel testing this out.

I still don't get why you use hollow points for penetration tests, when they're made for breaking and spreading out inside the target for maximum damage. Aside from that, a great video

I dont believe that I've ever seen hollow points for 458 win etc etc those are mostly Woodleigh solids for large bore rifles. I could be wrong but.....
