All countries have debt and more taxes than Kenya. The solution is Kenya needs to audit their finances through a third party to keep everyone honest, explain where each shilling is spent and by whom. Problem solved.

Kenyatta never paid anything, not even the interest during his regime. That is why the Shilling is depreciating. As long as the debt remains high , the shilling will continue falling because not only is the loan in a foreign currency but also the CBK of that country is raising its currency inflation rate so that also weakens the shilling. You cannot blame Ruto he was handed a very messy situation and is doing his best to keep it from collapsing. The question we shall all be asking is why people are paying attention now. Yes, Kenyatta borrowed ~6 trillion shillings , compared to Ruto’s 2 trillion to cover that debt, but it’s also not the same shilling, the shilling has weakened in these last ~11 years when compared to $€£ ). However, no one questioned the terms and conditions of Kenyatta’s loan no one asked what is the repayment plan. CBK simply kept adjusting the interest rate to minimize and masquerade how bad the situation was growing.We were comfortable with things his lack of integrity and sincerity back then. Now those terms and conditions and the questions we refused to tackle are biting us, and this is seriously worsened by the post Covid global economic slump. 😭 We have a long way to go , I suggest we stop complaining and buckle our seatbelts 😅.

Ata if u break even..all gov budget ikue from tax,regime itachukua from there ikue compeled by executive greed to spend more ,and to enable the deep state plus executive to force gov to spend more,the gov decision makers wil push gov to spend more and then the debt accumulated and another regime comes and increases tax and break even and then the cycle continues.the humanbeing changes but the fundamental human emotions dont change..even in the great US gov,the cycle is there..debt is a powerful drug..addictive,even to the best of us..dont play around with debt
