I travelled on Kenya's SGR railway from Nairobi to Mombasa because I wanted to experience Kenya's rail system. I booked economy class but I will never do it again. Why would I want someone staring directly at me for 5hrs and no leg room?

Being called big isn't an insult in Kenya, its a sign of success/doing well in life. The Swahili word for a heavy person or big man is "Mzito" and when you hear that term its flattery (usually to make you part with something small or favour).

Thanks for watching the channel. However, I'm really not the right person to ask for guidance regarding the SGR because I've only taken it once. Also, I indicated "Official Review" in the title because I thought that was funny. It kinda is 😂 All I took with me on the SGR was 1 small bag which easily fit above so I have no context regarding storing large items. I recommend that you upgrade if that's in your budget where I would expect there to additional accommodations. Have fun.

Thanks for the support. I find it interesting that you and others have asked me to collab with very popular KZfaq stars. There is no reason for folks with 200K, 300K and above to be interested in doing a collab with my tiny channel. You do realize that I have just 5K subs. However, I really enjoy what I'm doing and connecting with you all. I honestly prefer to just do me and tell my stories to see if you're all entertained. I rather not have a large following just because of a collab with a popular KZfaqr and then a fall-off because my content doesn't resonate. I wish to grow the channel with loyal subscribers who genuinely enjoy my content. I do this once a week because that's all the time I have. Thanks for watching 😊

I can imagine that kids would love the train. As long as they can play with each other, watch shows and see the occasional elephant from the window, they are in heaven. I wanted to experience it once and it turned out to be interesting. Had I upgraded, I likely would not have vlogged about it 😊.

The security checks being too extreme is tied to terrorist attacks happening in our country including in PSVs around the time the SGR came up. Hopefully over time it can just be a simple train ride as it was before with the old trains. The confiscation of alcohol just like some items on planes is a business idea the public accepted.

Don't know if I want to take on another 5hr rail trip coupled with a 1.5hr car ride from Mombasa to Diani when I can fly from Nairobi directly to Diani in 1hr. We'll see 😊. Also, it is not likely to be eventful. Nice seats, everyone wearing headphones and great food service. Doesn't seem like anything to talk about. a problem with the security? In 2013 Westgate mall was taken under siege, 71 people lost their lives. I won't even mention the Dusit D2 attack. If you come from the USA to Kenya and need to hire a vehicle for your own use, you'll have to drive on the left. Because that's how we do it here. You cant drive on the right because where you come from you drive on the right. My point is, whatever you see being done wherever you go and think "it's a little extra" well there's a really good reason why that is the case. Learn to accept these things!!!
@duncanelishama1990
@duncanelishama1990 Жыл бұрын
Also, you can't complain about the economy class seating, this train as you might have noticed is quite long, the economy seats are created that way to get the most seats out of every carriage as possible. There is not enough space on either ends of the two railway stations to turn the train around, there has to be compromise, half of the seats will face the direction the train is going and half won't. This is better than the whole train facing the wrong direction. Keep in mind that the same train has to make a return trip to the other station. Sleeper trains all over Europe have people sharing cabins for more than 5 hours, some even have the same seats. We complain too much about things that don't really have the biggest impacts. I wanna meet new people on that 5 hour journey I have no problem with the F2F seats, and so do most Kenyans I know.
