Preparations for Kenya to host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, went a notch higher, after President William Ruto on Friday launched the construction of the Talanta Sports City complex. The 60,000-capacity modern stadium will be built at the Jamhuri Grounds in Nairobi, and will be one of the host venues earmarked for the 2027 AFCON.

There's a competition for illogical ideas in Kenya these days. 150 Billion for a new 60,000 stadium and we haven't been able to fill up Kasarani since 1996? Empty coffers, trains to nowhere, horrible Mombasa-Nairobi highway, no money for Counties/schools/hospitals etc but no, a new, UNNECESSARY stadium has to be built.

60000 seater stadium in 21 months!! Keep on hallucinating. And yes ,I concur hizi ni story za jabaa. Our main stream media sadly as shallow as uda. Why? Yaani you can't tell us, say just three key things on the project. Namely; 1) Architects + entire consultants team? 2) Main works contractor? ( Lead contractor.) 3) Estimated cost? Bure kabisa nyinyi.
