The truth is money comes from foreign and domestic workers who remit money from other states, and tourists. Nothing else. Local economy is restricted to a few sectors FMCG medical supplies , house construction supplies etc. Hardly any high revenue generating industry. You have to see a upper middle class malayalis house is less say Calicut. Huge mansions in a tiny plot. Land cost has sky rocketed. Black economy is everything.
