The second longest bridge in Europe is actually the Storebælt Bridge in Denmark, with it's 17 km. However it's has curiously been divides in an eastern and a western section by the media, apparently since it crosses an island, but so does the Kerch Strait Bridge....Go figure..

I'm going to preface this by saying that I in no way shape or form support Russia or it's unjustifiable war because I know that I'm likely going to get flamed into oblivion for saying it. It's important to remember that no one is immune to propaganda, no one. Simon is ostensibly biased, and rightly so. That being said, it's a lot easier to identify propaganda from the outside looking in. Case in point, at 18:35 even though the subject matter expert quoted here explicitly stated he wasn't sure whether the safety checks were made, a lot of people are going to accept it as fact that they weren't.

The bridge pylons were perhaps not as badly damaged as it seems it was mainly bridge decking that went down, which only rest on the pylons/piers and are not concreted permanently attached to them. Many bridges that were bombed during WW 2 in Europe were rebuilt on existing pylons, some of which were damaged and rebuilt. Most of these bridges still stand today or have been replaced or upgraded with newer structures over 75 years on.

One of the post explosion videos showed a rather large vertical crack and significant corrosion runoff seeping from it on the Crimea end of the damaged section. Fairly far off from the explosion. On the train bridge, enough heat penetrated the concrete to cause damage via the expansion of the rebar. It’s possible that enough heat penetrated the concrete to cause weakening of the structural steal of the support column that was directly under one of the burning fuel tankers, as video showed the high wind was blowing the wind under and around said column. They’ll be able to use it, but they probably won’t be able to send shipments of tanks over the rail bridge.

Good video. It covers a vast chunk of history about Crimea. But one thing is needed to be add here - as a preparation to invasion to Crimea in 2014 there was a smaller act of aggression from Russia in 2003 known as Tuzla Island conflict. Russia one day just began construction on a dam from the Taman Peninsula towards Tuzla island which still officially belongs to Ukraine. There were some tensions between our countries, but all was resolved between our pro-russian president Kuchma and Putin. As a result, Tuzla defacto came under Russia's control. This was Ukraine's first concession of its sovereignty, and a signal to all smart people that it wouldn't be the last. Right after that, in 2004, there was an invasion of Georgia, and even more people in Ukraine started to belive that we are the next. And that did happen in 2014. I belive that Tuzla event was a probe of Ukraine's possible response. And after Putin saw that there almost nothing he finally desided to invade Crimea at the moment of greatest instability in Ukraine. And ones againe our government responed nothing. So Putin desided to do such a trick again, but with almost all Ukraine and failed, because Ukraine society have changed from 2014.

The railway bridge has been baked by that fire. Any water still in the concrete will have made cracks. Like the sea water damage It's not going to cause an instant catastrophe, just a very expensive one to fix and an immediate closure once it becomes clear it's out of control everytime another arms train goes over it. Putting the bridge under further threat, then setting fire to the Kent sized carpark on the far side, and taking a ferry out, making the bridge both barely usable but utterly critical, could turn Putain's Crimean life line into it's noose. It's worth an update if you can get more construction data. It's quite simply the most critical piece of infrastructure on the planet right now. Data data data.
