Here's a fun clip with some absolutely terrific shots from a P-51C flight that took place during the filming of the "Wizard of Orlampa" tv show. Almost all these clips have never been seen before, especially an abundance of really awesome fly-bys. And as always, the sound of that Rolls Royce Merlin engine roaring by is music to the ears . . . and soul! Hope you enjoy it.

@@dmg4415 the griffon when on cruise power sings. Especially when it has a multi stage supercharger. It sounds like a tenor humming with a soprano singing along in the background. Cheesy discription I know but thats what I do to engineering I love, I personify it.

@@PrinceAlhorian Sounds like a good way to describe it, and yes the pun is intended. In the Swedish Airforce museum in Linköpings, they have a station, where You could listen to different engines, when the planes are flying, It may be reachable on the Internet, I have to try it right now. We have had DB in the 600 series, Griffin, some lower power PW and so on.

When I was a kid and went to fantasy of flight for the first time here in Florida I was just so amazed about seeing all of the beautiful planes and different things about flight, Kermit even took me and my families picture before we knew who he was, This plane was the first plane I ever saw fly why I went to Fantasy of Flight and me being a fan of the P-51's and wanting to become a pilot, I was so happy, kermit is an amazing pilot and ill never forgdt my first time, I hope Fantasy of Flight in florida will come back to the old ways, I miss the huge hangar and seeing flybys

I still remember seeing a pair of P-51's doing a lowpass during an airshow back in the early 80's. The Merlins were screaming, and the planes moved so fast it was hard to follow them with the eyes. This flying seems very "relaxed" compared to the military "attack profile" display they showed. Great video as alway from Fantasy of Flight.
