Awesome film. Keeps you guessing and Aaron Pedersen is brilliant, subtle but conflicted. Very human.

He's really good. Outstanding. A shame, especially as an Indigenous Australian he's not become more known internationally, like so many other aussie actors have. Though maybe he doesn't want to. Based on his filmography on his imdb page it looks like he's having a pretty solid career in Oz.

I never thought of Mark as a Pink Floyd fan - but after listening to this review, I would hazard a guess he is.

Excellent analysis. You make a lot of sense! However, I don't understand why you don't shoot this in a quieter place? The screens and cables are distracting. Why not chose a quiet background and use the extra screen space for shots from the movie?

I’ve absolutely loved the whole Mystery Road movie & TV series. I recently saw a movie called “The Devil All the Time” on Netflix that I feel had a similar vibe but set in Appalachia.

Anyone explain this movie! I have watched it twice and can't make head nor tail orrit! Is the 'bent ' cop bent!? If he was bent and in with the drug's gang then why didn't he shoot Jay? Who Killed the girl? What did the hidden drugs have to do with it !?

Hugo Weaving's character is a smooth talking, bend copper, who ought to have been on the gang's side. However in an outraged Australian manner, he switched sides when he saw a copper very much out gunned and knew if he did not risk his life in that moment to do this one last right thing, he would be dead inside for the rest of his days.

Listening to that clip, even without having seen the film, I can make a conclusive review of it: Mystery Road is a movie made by a man who has either never been to film school or is so egotistical that he believes the "no mouth noises" rule doesn't apply to him. *smack* *smack* *chew* *chew*
