There are lots of people who say they are Christians and believe in Jesus but are not actually living like a Christian and like Jesus did but are living like the rest of the world does. I think this song is not so much about feeling different but more about wanting to live like Jesus did and stand up for what you believe despite what other people (even church going people) say and think of you. If someone does everything the Bible tells him to do than he is definitely an outcast.

This really reminds me of Jessica Andrews' That's Who I am, which was a really defining song for me growing up. To this day the idea of being an outcast for God is giving me strength to do crazy things. For instance the fact that I, an extremely conservative homebody who thrives on linguistic humor, am studying abroad in Ecuador in order to start a new campus ministry. I don't fit in here, but I'll take whatever helps me to shine with God's light.

I am an outcast to the world because i am not a citizen of earth, but of Heaven. I cannot wait to be with my people and praise God eternally!!!

This song is great and can mean two different ways. To me though, im outcast from the world, for beliefs. Outcast from the church, for not being perfect. Not all churches are that way, but most are. The people make it uncomfortable!

It's one of my favorites and like others makes me feel better. I know this is a Christian oriented song but the message is something you don't have to be a religious person to be inspired by. I have always been the new kid in school or at a job to do something that has never been done that shakes up the status quo but I have always adjusted while still being the person that I know I am and have always been. We all want to "fit in" and when we are made to feel we don't, it's really tough. However, the one thing many of us have in common that we don't always realize is that many people often feel the same way but conceal it to avoid attention. Secondly, be true to who you are, your core values and do what's right, even when you're made to feel you are wrong or going at it alone. If you get knocked down, get back up and when you do take a stand for something, do it all the way.

This is a song that speaks the truth, about how every nice, and good people are treated. I'm proud to be different, I only live my life to please God not people, so I only care people who cares about me, and who likes me for who I am instead of something stupid like by what my style is, how I look, how much money I have etc. Girls who feels the same way like me, I have respect for and I would marry someone like that.

It seems that everyone is reading this song in a different way that I do. Which is fine I suppose, every thing speaks to everyone in different ways. But this song really spoke to me, because I was made to go to a Pentecostal church (Church of God, Assembly Of God). Then, a few years ago I thought I was going to go to an Apostolic church. If anyone knows where I'm going with this so far...then you've done some studying, or you've been in the same position.
