@@carla3881 I am happy it influence our music but I don't want soca to lose its identity - nothing wrong with afrobeats ( i like that type of music) but you want ppl to overuse it and we are not recognized as soca.

@@chineebizkit okay, thanks for explaining, as it sounded like you had a problem with afrobeats. That said, I do think our soca artistes have been able to creatively merge both sounds, thereby allowing the genre to evolve. Hence soca is what it is today, Machel being a big influencer of this over the years (in my opinion).
