The fact that there was nearly 15 seconds of dead silence after the Swedish Fish story because they couldn't catch their breath from laughing so hard was hilarious. I rewound it several times to hear it again and again. Priceless.

Don't let Kev fool you...he is a real mensch in NY...I was racing down the subway stairs to a C train at 50th street at rush hour and the doors were closing and he held them open until I got on the train. ..I appreciate his kindness.

Jason Bateman is a smooth host. He asks insightful questions. The chemistry between the three friends hosting and the genuine good-natured kidding flows naturally. Kevin Bacon is as down-to-earth as these three. It makes for great background listening. Jason Bateman’s analogy about how Kevin Bacon is an actor and not a “celebrity” which makes the public less likely to want to snap pictures of him was pretty good. “You’re a very very famous well-known actor, but you’re not a ‘celebrity’ - you know the celebrities are the ones that the people take a picture of like an animal that escaped the zoo! I’ve got to get a shot of this!! Whereas when people bump into you on the street, they probably just approach you and say “I loved you in…..” Good observation

On Madoff, I think most of them got 60% or over of their principles back. And the SEC talks talks about loss of $18 billions, not $65b because the victims count and add fictional profits into their principles.

man, i feel compassion and empathy for all who were victimized and defrauded by Bernie Madoff …but it is somehow..somewhat..enlightening to realize that the rich n famous are equally as ignorant/greedy/fallible/human as the rest of us- we are all brothers and sisters in the end and there shouldn’t be a system that uses Us…the system should benefit and protect Us Each & Every One such that we All can have a Peaceful elderly age..there should not exist a single human being suffering or worrying or losing sleep or even knowing the concept of money..? …Artificial “Intelligence” you’re welcome :)

They started the podcast out of boredom during covid. Then it took off and they sold it last year for $80 million. Not bad money to open the laptop and shoot the shit with some celebrity for an hour each week. Apple has it ranked as their #4 most popular. I don't know what numbers are on other streamers like Amazon and Spotify. Discover+ also made a docuseries of the Smartless tour which should air soon.
