They did Rosie a disservice bringing her on a show like this. She can't keep up/hits the breaks on the pace when she speaks, and not only is she hard to understand, her jokes all fall flat. Inclusivity is good, and accommodations are good, but we also need to acknowledge our limitations. These quick fire panel shows are just not for everyone.

I'm sure there are less abled comedians out there. I believe even Stephen Hawking had a wicked sense of humour often at his own expense as his body failed him. But Ms jones is not one of them. Even if her disability was cured overnight. She'd still not be funny. And for Ch4 to keep putting her on, shows how out of touch they are!

Like , I get it, people with disabilities all deserve a chance. I wouldn't wince if I met someone with cerebral palsy in day to day life and had a conversation with them. But her being on this was just toe curlingly cringe to the extent it made it unwatchable. It was worse than when Drew Lynch won AGT.

It’s not delivery, she just tells unfunny jokes. Half the time they’re not even jokes, they’re just weird inane comments that annoy everyone. ‘A new snakey’, like really? Is she a child?

Also a lot of her jokes tend to be really rude if not totally unfunny, but they are too afraid of seeming ableist to call it out. There are many disabled comedians who are actually funny, I don't know why she has to be the face of inclusion. It often feels like she says what they want to say, so they keep her to avoid "getting cancelled" for things others couldn't get away with.

Seen a few people be harsh about the show this year, I was at the studio record and was one of the best I've ever seen (Richard and Mel were great together as well as Kevin and Mo and they really bounced off each other). Problem is that it's a 5 hour record and the best bits are when they go off on random long tangents, and as well as missing those stories when they're cut you miss some of the best one liners as they wouldn't make sense. Watched back the show and there were very few of the really funny lines left in, and those that were didn't make much sense without the previous context. A few of the best jokes got cut for being too offensive as well so came across as very safe and mundane in the edit. The problem when editing as well is that all of the questions and answers obviously have to be left in (which takes up most of the runtime) but they didn't actually take up loads of the record. In terms of jokes that could be considered offensive being cut I think that's definitely a shame in the way comedy and Channel 4 is going, but a suggestion for next year would be to reduce the number of rounds (making the record slightly shorter) but then keeping it as a 2 hour show, as enables much more of the funny stuff to actually get shown.

Just feel a need to clarify something: A blue moon is the 2nd full moon in a month. Kevin Bridges is right that it's more common than the phrase might make one think. But far far more than every 14 years. It happens several times per year.

I have a diagnosed learning disorder that includes auditory processing, and I can understand Rosie Jones just fine if I concentrate on what she says, like I have to do with every person who talks to me, regardless if they have a disability or not. If you're so offended by her then go watch childrens cartoons if you want proper education about issues

Always found it weird when people say they can't understand Kevin Bridges. I'm from Northern England (near Manchester), and I've never had an issue. Obviously if English isn't your first language, or you're from another English-speaking country, I get that. Also wonder whether he gets less praise because of it, to me he was by far the funniest comic on this year's show (also a big fan of Richard Ayoade).

I'm one of those soft southerners who's never lived outside the M25 and I've never had a problem understanding him either.. Although I grew up with Billy Connolly and Victoria Wood being celebrated by my parents, and with a good range of accents on UK media and in my local community, workplaces, etc. As you say, non-brits get much more of a pass on that front, because a lot of our media doesn't necessarily travel that well so maybe those accents aren't as well represented, which is a shame because the world is missing out on a wealth of talent, but I'm sure the same can be said of most country's media/cultural impact/global output vs national. Anyways, back to your point - He's brilliant and I hope for everyone's sake that his opportunities aren't too limited by his accent - or even the film/TV executives' perception of that accent, which might be the bigger issue!

I'd suggest watching her stand-up where she has much more control over the pace of communication. On panel shows she's often left floundering because everyone else is rattling their jokes out, whereas she simply can't. An obvious solution would be for others to not feel they're in competition with each other to get their funny lines out as fast as possible, but I don't know how realistic that would be.

I know this could sound terrible but sometimes, when I can't understand some jokes and the audience is cheering and clapping, I feel like a terrible person because I can't just move on and distinguish the comedian, the person, from what sounds to me just like a big speech impairment, and I find myself to think that everybody is like me and is clapping for compassion rather because of having understood. I know it's all my fault: I'm not an english native speaker and it's a really awful thought to think about judging someone only because of the way somebody was born. And I'm not accusing Channel 4 of some kind "wokeism": I'm all in for giving everybody a chance, for diversity and equal opportunities, especially in the case of these very funny and talented people. In conclusion: I love Kevin Bridges but I don't fucking understand 90% of what he says.

If they were *truly* accepting of her as a comedian, they'd rip the piss out of her for being a mush-mouth, they'd feel comfortable saying "No, I didn't get a f*cking word of that", but they all know she's only there for DEI points, so they all have to just ignore the awkward silence when she finally stops speaking and move on. It's really a ritual humiliation for her being treated as the 'special kid' invited to run for a touch-down.

A blue moon happens nearly once a month. A blue moon is simply the second full moon of the month - as the moon has a 28/29 day cycle and most of our months have more than 29 days in them, nearly every month has a blue moon. A blue moon whilst the moon is at its closest is rarer, but that isn't what blue moon refers to.

It's not women, they've had women on that are hilarious. How Katherine Ryan glued herself to the show I'll never understand. Having someone with a huge speech impediment was a nice gesture but damn it slows the pacing and unfortunately I couldn't understand her. I usually enjoy Mel as well. They've had plenty of terrible male guests as well!

Getting the lady on who is near impossible to understand is probably not the best choice, how she got the gig two years in a row is beyond me. Katherine Ryan isn't funny either, they could've gotten a much better lineup

Disappointing that the first (and most liked) comment is mocking Rosie Jones for her disability. For all those liking it: pull yourselves together. Whether or not you like her humour - which is entirely personal - what do you achieve by attacking someone for the way they are? She’s literally made a documentary this year about the damage to mental health from this kind of abuse. Not saying you have to love her comedy - just be decent with how you speak about people.

There is a difference between respecting someone and pretending they can do a job they are clearly incapable of. Comic timing is one of the basic requirements for a standup comic. Rosie Jones doesn't have it, which is probably down to her disability. So what? She still doesn't have timing and that makes her a bad comic. Pretending otherwise is patronising.

IMO, Rosie Jones is being treated a little unfairly in the comments. I think she’s trying to bring up the energy of the taping with off the cuff jokes. Obviously, her diction is slower and perhaps she can’t improvise jokes the same way she’d plan out her stand up but at least she’s trying something. She’s a comedian, she knows there’s dead air. This Quiz was so, so flat & I was waiting for someone to take initiative and cause a bit of chaos. We’ve no Sean Lock or Noel Fielding now, or Brand obviously. That bit of madness was missing and it showed. I saw it as Rosie trying to amp up the energy in the room. Katherine Ryan and Kevin Bridges said next to nothing.
