@@MasterAppels Poverty is terrible, but in some ways you should envy them, because you or I will never be as alive as that kid. He's living the whole range of human emotions - fear, happiness, aspiration, doubt, survival, joy, danger. His heart is full of dreams. Whereas, people like us are just lazy, bloated, and slowly fading away. We exist, he lives. I made quite a lot of money myself, in my mid-40s (more money than I can spend), and a piece of me died. I was no longer the competitive, driven, aggressive passionate person I used to be. I kind of morphed into a lazy, depressed, slob lol

@@chrisjames6327 Indeed. The more shit you have here, the worse you feel. I've been on both sides of the coin and personally, I was happier when I was poor. My kids and wife are the only reasons I have any of this shit. And let me tell you, it is shit. It's all utterly meaningless in the end. What did I get in return for all of this bullshit? Not the house, the truck, the beamer just parked in the garage that I drive 2 times a month? No, no, I got to shave years off of my life as I stressed out in order to maintain this type of lifestyle. I've never seen a hearse pulling a U-Haul. Perhaps someone else will enjoy this shit when I'm gone? Perhaps 50-60 years from now, someone will need a part off my truck to get their dream antique truck running and they will be happy? Perhaps someone will purchase one of my firearms for their firearm collection and they will be happy? Perhaps someone will restore my home and make it into a bed and breakfast? Then, perhaps a wide variety of people will enjoy this place while they're on vacation from their own stressful lives and they will be happy? It's a nice thought.....

What has always made this so great is it wasn't a "speech". This was a conversation between a boy and his mom. His expression, now a man, of appreciation to her. Those hungry nights didn't go unnoticed. The sacrifices not unseen. At the time, it wasn't stated, but he saw her strength and was, is, and always will be treasured
