Kevin Garnett puts up a career high 47 points against the Suns. His 47 points are also a franchise record for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Only fitting the most important Timberwolves player has the record. He also had 17 rebounds. The Suns won the game despite a furious rally by the Wolves in the 4th quarter.

@NikThaQuik If you ignore defense than you are right. Blake's potential is incredible. Blake is a hard worker so he will improve defensively, but right now at his first season he is one of the absolute worst defenders in the league at his position, on the level with Love, Amare or Boozer. Garnett is one of the greatest defensive players of all time... Defense at PF position in today's game is extremely important especially for defending P/R's..You can not win w/o great inside D..

@azn25centt i beg to differ.....the ONLY kg had that blake isn't better at already is his passing ability...and blake is a decent passer himself.....blake can handle like a guard i'll admit kg at his best had a better post game but blake will improve in the fundamentals of that area even tho he's already damn near unstopbable down low. KG in his PRIME was puttin up numbers like 22-14-6, blake in his rookie year put up like 22-12-3

I wish the Wolves' front office had been competent enough to get NBA-level talent around him for more than one year, and that Glen Taylor wasn't a greed cheapskate piece of shit. Of course, some of the people on the team in KG's later years were people he wanted on the team that sucked, but the fact that they were letting KG pick who they signed just goes to show the ineptitude of Kevin McHale as a general manager.

I find it a bit coincidental that the one year Garnett had some talent on the Wolves team, they went to the Conference Finals. Sam Cassell, Sprewell, Eddie Griffin, took the stacked Lakers with 4 hall of Famers starting to 6 games

I think they broke up the Spree, Cassell, Garnett trio too soon. They failed to make playoffs the next season but it was only because the west was so deep. When Cassell and Spree departed it was really when Garnetts time in Minnesota was truly up.

Some ppl jus dnt kno basketball... Tim Duncan was drafted out of Wake Forest & put in a winning situation alrdy w/ Pop & David Robinson. KG was stuck in Minnesota for more then a decade w/o no hlp or good coaches... Duncan won a championship early in his career, not bcuz of his talents but bcuz of the system pop created... to win championships, its a team effort.

Kevin Garnett has also been in the league 4 years more. Duncan has 4 rings? 4>1. Garnett may have more pts, rebs, but Duncan has a career statline of 20.2Pts-11.2Rbs-3.1Ast-2.2Blk vs Garnetts 19.1-10.5-3.9-1.5. Duncan is the greatest PF of all time. On another note, better talent=lower stats. If Duncan would've played for the Wolves instead of KG, Duncan would have averaged 30+.

@azn25centt garnett NEVER avg more than 24.2 ppg his whole career.....nor did he avg more than 13.9 reb.....tho you're not far off from those numbers all of that is beside the point. The point is there is every reason to believe that Blake Griffin will have every opportunity to end up being a better player than KG when it's all said and done. He's right behind KG at his best right out of the gate.

@CrimsonUniverse22
@CrimsonUniverse22 10 жыл бұрын
What? KG would NOT have 10 rings if he played for the spurs. You act like Duncan had a bunch of all-stars with him. Not the case at all. Tony Parker? a 28th pick. Manu Ginobili? A 57th pick. Bruce Bowen? Undrafted. David Robinson? On the decline when Duncan joined the spurs. Does that sound like an all-star cast? No, these are a bunch of low draft picks and old geezers. I truly don't understand why people think Duncan had this amazingly talented group around him. That's not the case at all. Duncan is better than KG. Go to any list on google that shows that ranks the greatest power forwards ever. Tim Duncan is ALWAYS rated higher than KG on any list. That is not by accident. Deal with it.

AJ Christopher kg have no rings in more than half of his career but he keeps fighting .Its true parker,ginobili,bowen,robinson,horry,antonio daniels.jaren jackson bonner .brent barry.finley. are good players or good teammates for duncan and you think duncan can win championship without that bunch of stars. i say no good supporting cast NO duncan right NOW! . imagine if garnett have a teammates like that in minnesota twolves he averaged 50+ per game, 20+ rings i sure..!!! duncan have a defensive player of the year award?? NO !! only KG gets defensive player of the year back in boston. better defensive player than duncan, THERS NO DOUBT KEVIN GARNETT IS THE BEST POWER FORWARD IN NBA AND BETTER THAN DUNCAN.!!! . End of CONVERSATION.
@CrimsonUniverse22
@CrimsonUniverse22 10 жыл бұрын
Cristina Pancho KG may have a DPOY award, but Duncan also has 14 total NBA ALL-Defensive team selections, more than anyone else in history. Tim Duncan has the second most defensive win shares ALL-TIME, behind only Bill Russell. But I don't expect you to understand any of this because you sound like some little 12 year old that doesn't know anything and is delusional. The fact that you called guys like Bruce Bowen, Stephen jackson, Matt Bonner, and Brent Barry as STARS, means you don't know what the hell you are saying. Seriously, you actually believe KG would average 50 POINTS A GAME and have 20+ RINGS if he had Duncan's teammates? LMFAO, yeah, that's how I know you have absolute zero basketball knowledge.
@fuckyouimthebasherman920
@fuckyouimthebasherman920 10 жыл бұрын
AJ Christopher men i guess your duncan is to old to do this . Kevin Garnett is the only player in NBA history to reach at least 25,000 points, 10,000 rebounds, 5,000 assists, 1,500 steals and 1,500 blocks in his career. Only player in NBA history to average at least 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists per game for 6 consecutive seasons (1999-2000-2004-05) second player in NBA history to lead his team in all five major statistics (points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks) in the same season: Minnesota Timberwolves, 2002-03 second to michel jordan. Only player in NBA History to win Conference Player of the Month Award four times in a single season (2003-04) third player in NBA history to win Most Valuable Player and Defensive Player of the Year during his career .Also achieved by Michael Jordan, Hakeem Olajuwon. 15.3 rebound vs San Antonio Spurs men think about it What if Garnett was drafted two slots higher and was the third overall pick instead of Jerry Stackhouse? Imagine a Garnett-Iverson duo wreaking havoc on the Eastern conference… Men would Duncan have four championship titles under his belt if he was in Garnett’s situation? i guess no As usual, Kevin Garnet is probably the better player in terms of skill .
@CrimsonUniverse22
@CrimsonUniverse22 10 жыл бұрын
Cristina Pancho Look at his PLAYOFF accomplishments. His only playoff accomplishments are rebounding stats. LOL Garnett in the playoffs has nothing to show for, other than grabbing a ton of rebounds. You discredit Duncan for having "better" teammates. Yeah, what about when Garnett joined Boston with freaking Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo? Yet, even with those guys, they could only win ONE ring in that weak ass Eastern Conference. This is what you get when you bring up hypothetical situations. You don't have the slightest clue what Garnett would've been like if he'd had a "better" team. Logically speaking, because Garnett had not so great teammates in Minnesota, he had to step his game up and do everything. If Garnett had Duncan's teammates, he wouldn't have had to do so much on his own, and his stats probably wouldn't be as good in his prime. Put Duncan in Minnesota, Duncan would have to do everything a lot more, and probably have way higher stats. See? If you turn it around, we'd still be arguing. This time, I'd be saying what you are saying now, and you'd be saying what I'm saying. It never ends. Don't freaking discredit Duncan for being put in the situation he was in. Magic Johnson had freaking Kareem and James Worthy. Yet, are you going to argue that Magic isn't the best PG ever? Michael Jordan played with two outstanding, lockdown defenders in Pippen and Rodman. Are you going to tell me Jordan isn't the greatest shooting guard ever? Duncan outplays Garnett in the PLAYOFFS, where it matters the most. You are delusional when it comes to Garnett. Saying shit like he'll have 50 points per game and 20 rings if he played on the spurs. STOP BEING DELUSIONAL.
