These last few years bin insane...I lost the my dream job, then lost my girl, feel like I lost my kids, and my dad died yesterday ...all in that order unfortunately. But maann when I decide to put Gates on riding down the highway I burst out and cry with so much emotion...Not even a sad cry...Makes me feel like its the theme music to my movie where I'm about to overcome all of this. Suffering is no longer on the table for me, Suicide is NO LONGER on the table for me...Being a "prisoner in my own mind" is something I may always be...But this fahsho helps me cope with it. Salute to anybody going through ANYTHING...If you are, I look up to you and I am your fan. Salute to you because you're still here to read this...That means you're fighting. To whom it may concern....Love.

Why I love Kevin Gates, I can relate to him and I feel his pain. Same as me at 15 ran away, I was the black sheep of my family and had them talking about me when I was young behind my back and growing up. Went to Juvenile detention, arrested a few times. Grew up poor and with fake people all around me. Im not friendly, but I am one hell of a good friend despite all the sht people done to me. Although I am successful now, this pain never goes away, heal from it, sure, but its something you will never forget. And I am sure many people on here probably relates to him as well. His music is therapeutic and very thank for him creating this. Glad Kevin Gates made it out the mud and is now successful, well deserved.

I feel this song completely. My Mom had me when she was almost 15. I became a ward of the state after i ran away at 15. Foster home, 3 group homes, 2 bootcamps before I was 18. I swept that under the rug and acted like it never happened. This song made me bring it up. To heal from it. So I gotta say thanks for makin this song.

Mom had me at 14.. Grandparents raised me. I aged out of care- was in care from 12-18... Due to running away, substance abuse, & all that. 26 group homes, 1 foster home, & a whole lot of detention centers... I have changed my life completely around.

I was a prisoner to my pain pill addiction (i have almost 6 yrs of continuous sobriety) im the black sheep of my family because im adopted, my best friend took her own life in January 2019 (i feel like im responsible for her death because i live 100 miles away from her) and i feel like i failed her as a best friend/sister. This is by far my favorite Gates song.

You're killing it with sobriety. Post acute withdrawal syndrome is a real thing and can last years after getting clean. It's the psychological aspect of withdrawal. You can work through these feelings, you've got this ♡

You're not responsible for your friends passing, your friend was obviously in a really dark place it's not your fault so please don't feel like that. I lost my best friend a year ago because he lost his fight with addiction while I was 700 miles away so I completely understand how you feel. @@johnpapiez4090 I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm not kidding or lying when I say this but since 2015, I have lost 57 friends to addiction. 99% of them have died to heroin laced with fentanyl. When my bestfriend died, I was so hurt more than anything because she took her own life by overdosing on heroin that was laced w/fentanyl. We had plans to spend this this summer together because I live in Louisville and she lived in florence ky (about 10 minutes from Cincinnati) I still talk to her mother daily. She left behind a 19 yr old son (hes the 1 who found her) and a 10 year old son. I will keep you in my prayers my friend
