It occurred to me that it would be easy to trick Kevin into talking about upcoming titles just by saying "So Kevin, what was it like to cut Mal Waldron - The Quest for the new OJC?" and he'd either say "Oh, did they announce that?" or "I don't think that was me" and you'd have your answer. Except that would be a crappy thing to do and he'd never come back on.

Great job, gentlemen. KG nerding out about tape formulations and showing some of his favorite records, among other things, were all unprecedented in relation to the many KG interviews now on YT

I was listening to one of his latest, Bill Evans Waltz For Debby on Craft OJC - awesome sounding album. BTW, one of my fav Stanley Turrentine albums is a CTI title, Sugar. Ron Carter is the man on that record.

Every record I’ve ever heard mastered by Kevin Gray was distorted and sibilant when listened to on headphones. He seems nice and I’m grateful that he was around after RVGs passing to bring old Blue Note albums to the masses. But I hope his masters get better 🙏
