Kevin talks about starting out in 2001 at the Montreal Comedy Festival with our guest host Mike Birbiglia, his rise to success, never taking everything for granted, Dave Chappelle getting attacked on stage at the Hollywood Bowl, having a buffalo wing thrown at him on stage, his joke writing process, writing a children’s chapter book “Marcus Makes it Big,” celebrating Mother’s Day, and the best parenting advice he has ever been given.

man, I've always respected that Kevin keeps his personal opinions close to the chest and doesn't go around shoving his politics into peoples faces (totally his right to do so of course). But I also find it refreshing to hear him take a serious stance on what is proper behavior & relationship between a live actor and the audience.

Very very well said. Lines are blurred and as an audience you just simply enjoy it and if you can’t leave or don’t purchase a ticket! Completely agree. I would like though to see less of a witch hunt for Will Smith, he made a bad mistake yes, feel terrible for Chris Rock, but, if Will Smith thought Chris knew re his wife’s medical condition, I can understand him feeling like doing what he did. Fact is I don’t think Chris knew, which surprised me but quite possible, and if he did know, no one should have been assaulted, but an apology to Jada would have been due. Anyway, my point is, can we try to understand why Will made such a bad error and let him serve his time and let him back. Still feel terrible for Chris though, and the bit I like about what’s happened is the support for Chris, as long as it’s true he didn’t know she has alopecia. Again, a request for an apology, rather than an assault, would have been due if Chris did know, and as I as a member of the public knew a while ago, I can see why Will assume all of Hollywood would know.

@@roonoronno656 Doesn't matter whether Chris knew about Jada's condition or not (though I'm sure he did). The GI Jane joke was a huge compliment because that character is so fkn badass & incredible role model. There's no way that joke should have been characterised by the media as a roast at Jada's expense bc it just wasn't. Secondly no matter what incited it there's never an excuse for how Will behaved that night - or for not immediately ejecting him.

I haven't seen anyone be that smart and articulate for ages but i disagree with that part. The audience wanting to argue or criticise a comedian is part of the job and comics should welcome that risk & tension. Instead of saying don't buy a ticket the solution is far simpler - everyone stay in their seats.
