It's known that every team in NASCAR is constantly trying to find "creative" ways to gain an advantage on the competition. Kevin Harvick recalls some memories from the days in the No. 29 at Richard Childress Racing where they pushed the limits of the rulebook. Dale Jr. also asks what his favorite memory from his career was.

I will miss seeing Kevin on the track. After NASCAR's darkest day, we were looking for a new hero to follow... Kevin fit the bill. On and off the track, he has been a champion. Thank you for all the memories from your great career!!!

To see that 29 on the car again was something special for the diehard Harvick fans. Back in May I took my family and drove 10 hours to SHR just to see the 29 car one last time.

One more excellent example of the integrity, honor and respect given in this podcast. This podcast also sets the bar for whatever other podcast should work towards. Everything is on the board, respectfully, and boundaries are in place and functioning very nicely. Everything is about respect, integrity and honor, given and received.

I am a retired firefighter. When I get together with some of my brothers in the fire service, we would have the same table talks that you are now experiencing with your former racing brothers. It's a great feeling to be around those who have experienced similar things in your life. It's a true brotherhood but just in a different career. I enjoy each and every show Dale.

My favorite moment with Kevin is the pits at Daytona. I only had a cold pass so getting a chance to meet him was not in my favor. I don’t know why but he stuck his head out of his trailer and I threw up my new Harvick shirt and yelled, “please sign for my dad.” He had me come up to the stairs and he signed it then disappeared behind the door. I was so thankful. Junior I was also there another year and people were tripping over you to get an auto. You told everyone that day to be patience and signed along the fence for all the fans in the fan zone. I got a selfie with ya through the fence (Newman said he didn’t like the jail pic) lol Stewart is my fav driver. He totally blew me off several times. Never got a chance to meet him. I was so bummed. Just taking a few seconds for fans means a lot. I love both you guys and will miss you guys behind the wheel. Just thankful we get to continue to share moments with y’all. Thanks for some amazing memories.

If you wanted to talk to Tony you needed to take him to a strip club lol sorry just saying 😂he used to come to Madison year's ago and they'd party at Rich Bickel's strip club in Bristol, WI. close the bar down then go across the street to Rich's shop across the street and party till daylight 😂

@@jimgillett1184 hahaha I swear no bs, I have an auto of him on a 8x10 and the modified he was driving at New Smyrna was sponsored by Sharks Lounge. The car is in front of the place and he’s surrounded by girls. I was stationed overseas and my parents who worked at the track and for Gary Balough, got it signed for me. I was wanting to tell him who my family was but never got a chance. He held my sister up at the pit window by her feet and she drew a straw for him for his starting position. I don’t know if she cheated but maybe. 😂

@@jimgillett1184 sounds like a great time man. Nothing like hanging out with racers outside the track. My claim to fame is sitting by Ted Christopher after a speedweeks race. We would go to a local place called Pub 44 and watch that nights races. Sometimes a fight would happen. Man I miss it.

The thoughtful questions you ask are really awesome and you make each person who sits at that special table where memories are made and some memories are relived and there's always some humor thrown in for good measure!! What a Precious Priceless Treasured BLESSING you and Mike, Kelley and Amy and the others behind the scenes contribute to keeping Nascar alive and bringing it back to the GLORY it once was. I don't think it will ever be as great as when your Precious Dad was racing but you have certainly made it more memorable and enjoyable. For me, the 29 at the all star race was awesome, in terms of the throwbacks, not gonna lie I got a little choke up seeing it because of the memories of watching that car in ‘01, and the fact I figured it would never happen again. I’d love to see some of the stuff scheme wise they didn’t get to do. Personally, I was hoping to see the ‘03-‘06 GM Goodwrench paint scheme, maybe with Mobil1.

Thats gotta be how he won the 500 in 07. Because if you watch his onboard, there are several moments where his RPM's skyrocketed and he get these insane runs. Epecially on the last lap right before Kyle Busch tried to throw a block on him.

Its too bad the return to the 29 car was overshadowed by the return to north wilkesboro. Both deserved to be celebrated. The story of the return to 29 was both a testament to the respect Harvick has earned as well as the respect that Childress deserves. SHR also.

I'm guessing when Robert Yates milled the face of the heads at a different angle then the face of the intake on the 28 car, giving it a permanent vacuum leak, had something to do with the sniffer test being created as well.

Kevin told the story about partnering with the 29 number and Busch beer. I was wondering if throwbacks games at Darlington come to fruition in the same way. Is it really a simple as calling up the marketing department of a current, or a previous sponsor, who may or may not be in NASCAR anymore, and asking if they would be OK with doing this? even changing the logos to match the ones in the past?

When Kevin was telling how he informed RC that he was leaving the company and doing it the "right way" I couldn't help but think of how Tyler Reddick left the company. Be willing to bet RC won't do him any favors like he did Kevin if he even has anything close to the career that Kevin has had.

Only thing I can think of is when Jimmie ran the 5 and Mark Martin the 25 in I believe the 2011 All-Star Race. Perhaps he's mixing up Mark running the 25 with Chase's starts in the 25 and thinking Chase switched to the 25 for an All-Star Race at some point?
