Jim Cornette talks about this match on the Timeline History Of WCW 1990 dvd that just came out. He said the guy after the match showered, got on a bus, and never returned to wrestling. lol Corny also said right after the headbutt fails you can see him turn a little towards Nash and put his hands up and the whole locker room who were watching in the back popped. lol

The Master Blasters were formed to take the place of the departing Road Warriors who were heading to the WWF at the time in the very early 1990s. They have been many tag teams who where influenced by the Road Warriors like Demolition, Powers of Pain, Blade Runners and the Ascension (the worst of the bunch). But I thought nobody can be worse than the Master Blasters but then the Ascension came along and God they were terrible.

This is why a financial strategy of “replace expensive veterans with anyone who will work on the cheap” never works long term. You end up with rookies who have barely finished training and are not ready for TV yet. Nash was the better of the two here but the stiffness of his gesturing shows he wasn’t comfortable in front of the crowd. The way he half gestures his arms while keeping them stiff, it’s almost like he’s trying to hide within himself. His partner clearly was lost out there and that missed headbutt was so bad even the crowd saw it and immediately booed. If I was the booker that night, I would have told Iron to take a hike and kept Nash around because you can’t teach height and if you’ve got a young, built 7 footer, you keep him around for awhile and see if something can’t be made of him.

Watching this, you could tell right away they had something in Nash. 7’0” jacked dude? Crowd was kinda responding to him. The other guy looks like he might not have even been trained to sell moves and most likely only was trained to do the moves in this match. He’s extremely, EXTREMELY raw, almost untrained raw. He was a little stiff with a couple of those slams on Armstrong. Just flinging him down on the mat.

After the Road Warriors left WCW for the WWF, the WCW needed a replacement so they created these two. 3rd Rate Road Warriors rip-off although they did look impressive physically they were terrible in ring performers. By far other Road Warrior clones like the Demolition & Powers of Pain were much more impressive in ring & physically.

just listened to the Stone Cold Steve Austin Podcast with Kevin Nash and he talks about this crappy partner he had in this match. I had to go look up this match and see him and wow, he was horrible. he got in and couldn't do nothing but copy what Nash did to start the match, some arm bashing and then goes and misses a head butt only to do it a second time and look like he hurt himself doing it. he really sucked! Nash said the guy just quit and left after being on the road for 5 days.

Lied about his age. He was 19 in 1990, he's even got his real date of birth tattooed in the shading of his cobra commander tattoo, I saw it on TV once. He's actually Colt Cabana's Dad, he conceived him in a drunken one night stand with Colt's mum, then lied about being straight edge and acted the same age as colt to hide the truth. Look it up. He said so in a shoot interview once.
