The Govt are very quietly rolling out an undemocratic 'town board' in every impoverished northern county as part of their 'levelling up' BS. It basically installs a Sadiq Khan in every one of these locations and gives them massive control without the fear of being voted out. Politicians in the Philippines slap their names (and somtimes their ugly faces) on government projects (road improvement, school construction) as if the funds came out of their pockets when in reality it came from the tax payers.
