Is it ? No water and no recovery gear but a gear box he can’t carry and a gullie suit ?
@Valkyrie1911
@Valkyrie1911 3 жыл бұрын
@@VictoryOrValhalla14 I see you didn't pay attention to the whole video. He clearly stated the 80L bag had food and water, its not kept in the truck at all times because water freezes in cold temps...weird. And I believe the 4th box had vehicle specific gear. Realize that not everyone needs $5000 worth of recovery gear. Knowing how to drive and more importantly, how to keep yourself out of the situations that require recovery gear in the first place, is more important. You can do everything a winch can, with a come-along, it just takes longer. And if you live in an environment with no anchor points...like the desert, a winch is useless. I've dug plenty of vehicles out of sand with just a compact shovel, no $300 Maxtrax, no winch, etc.
@VictoryOrValhalla14
@VictoryOrValhalla14 3 жыл бұрын
@@Valkyrie1911 I paid close attention and like I said in my post on this video not keeping water because it will freeze is idiotic. A survival expert can’t melt water all of a sudden ? Not to mention it will thaw in the cab with the heat on. He never forgets something leaving the house ? Was there mention of a way to purify water when and if he forgets his water ? Or will there even be water on his route that he can get to ? he’s lugging around kit he can’t even carry by himself ? I never said you needed 5k in recovery gear, some knuckles, tow rope, ratchet system and boards is $200. A winch is around $400-500 and that’s what board are for if you don’t have a winch and your in the desert. Knowing how to drive ? Are you fucking serious kid ? You think the perfect plan will survive contact with Mother Nature or Murphy. Your whole post screams that you have zero experience and are the exact people these videos are made to fool.

Some of the things that's been invaluable in a vehicle recently has been a good ax, a 16in chainsaw (most trucks have 120ac, so even corded electric work), rope/tackle. Hard to stay in a veh when there's a tree/veh on the road you can't get around.

Love it brother! We have lived in relative stability for a long time here in America, most people think...."that can't happen here!" As if humans are really that different anywhere in the world. Being prepared doesn't make you a crazy vet, vets often have the benefit of having been places where the world is truly shit and no one is coming to help. It can happen here........don't get caught without a chair when the music stops.

Just make sure you have it stored properly, and stable, for longer term storage. Full containers, so that water vapor doesn't contaminate the fuel. It's a pain to keep rotating it (using it up, because fuel does degrade over time) and restocking it, but it's pretty good insurance. Times of disruption, for any given reason, fuel deliveries just don't happen. Time and again, within 3 days, stations are out of fuel.
