My bass fishing idol, whom I've had the pleasure to meet twice. Own both of his books and some DVD's. He even went so far to send me some great birthday presents, along with a personalized and autograph copy of his book, this September. What a guy!!!

I don't bass fish, I'am a catfisherman but this guy is truly great at the sport. He goes hard, has respect for the others, but still goes hard. He also seems to be very humble.....he just loves to fish.

Give me 300k in equipment and a family that can survive on it's own while I learn and grow and I'll succeed in it as well. Kevin has finished last when he first began until he learned! It takes money to make money and the average man cannot do it

Depends on what "average" means?

Very few of these guys if any start out like that. They start with the best cheap boat they can afford, a few rods, maybe one of every style bait, probably not every colors either lol. Most of these guys start off like everyone else, fishing as hard as they can with whatever they got. They also don't start off fishing in major nation tournaments with $5,000 entry fees too. They start on their home water and as they start to have success they put their winnings into more and better equipment. They work their way to the top, they don't start there!! Sure today the KVD's, or Aaron Martins, or Greg Hackney's of the world have anything and everything they could ever want to fish with, at little to no cost of their own, but when they were 22 on a 20 year old junk boat with 4 rods trying to make the money to grow their career, we weren't there to see that. Trust my my friend, almost all of the guys you see on TV started with very little, but worked and earned their way to where they are now & the luxury of having the things they do now!!
