I first heard Gates on an old mixtape app called Dat Piff when he first came out. I was instantly a fan. His old mixtapes were fire. Same app, I also found The Megos and Chance the Rapper. All of the Megos shit was fire, and Chance had a fire ass mixtape called Acid Rap. Great music back then.

I know we live in a difficult musical era, other rappers don't release good music so competition is non-existent but he manages to keep a good level.
