I have a traxxas rustler, it I plan on getting a mini max and make it go 100+. I am OBSESSED with rc cars and I’m on my 13. When I watch you videos it encourages me to do more and explore with my life. You totally changed my life. Keet up the good work!

The issue with breaking plastic driveshafts has been fixed long ago. There are longer ones included in the widemaxx kit. Steel driveshafts are a nice upgrade nonetheless, but not mandatory.

Did the same conversion to my Maxx, and i just used the extended driveshaft and that works fine.And the handling is even better if you put heavier oil in the shocks.

I just installed the widemaxx kit last night, I used the extended drive shafts that come with newer kits, hopefully they work as good as the stock shafts. Gonna try to get out and run it today...great vid...👍

I had to make a similar bit out of plastic to hold the front pins in my kraton too, after changing the front bumper to an rpm one, as the stock one held them before. Nice to know I did the same thing as the king of RC :)

Mine has been like this for 3 months now IMHO best upgrade is the cvd shafts and wide kit. I might have to give the ol hand juice a try. Keep up the great videos Kevin! 📹 🔥

5:07 Yay a mini e revo. I got one and it is super fast for the size: 50mph. The bad side about it is, you have to be careful when on 3s, especially when jumping to not kill the diffs with its own power. But its really fun.

I installed a center diff with 500k fluid, still does standing flips and no drive train breakage going on over 5 months now

I've had the same CVD'S for a couple of months now and bashed mine hard and never broke one. My hub always pops out and the shaft just slips out from the inner cup, so I'm gunna upgrade to alloy hubs. You must have had a Friday afternoon batch. Great vid kev...keep them coming

Nice work Kev. I do like the Maxx chassis, but I have an Xmaxx, and my Slash does more or less the same thing as the Maxx, so I haven't grabbed one yet. One day maybe.

Since you always mention the xmaxx is your favorite, maybe you could do a recommendation video for other price ranges, e.g. what you would get for like under 50€, 100€, 200€,500€, 800€,1000€,... Really appreciate all your great content!

I put 17mm hub/axel hexes on and gained 10mm width on each side. It has made the Maxx more stable without truggying it out.

I think with the wide Maxx kit, it now looks like a true scaled down Xmaxx. It looked too narrow before….needed the wider footprint!👍🏼

@@jay_rc_7809 For me it was perfectly fine but the occasional drive on grass and it’d flip. The wide Maxx or Maxx in general is a durable vehicle. Traxxas can create worse thing to complain about😂😂

Hey kev. Love from malaysia. Really a fan here. I just bought mine maxx and im lovin it. Thanks to your sincere babble on maxx ive decided to buy 1. Bought the widemaxx kit. But didnt use it yet. Btw can u test on shocks oil,whats happens if too thick and what happen if too thin. Now im using 1k cst and it is less roll on grass withour widemaxx kit. I was wondering on bashing high jumps. Thicker oil will affect others parts? Care to share? 🤗

So you need to change your shock oil in the rear springs also. Our group used 80 weight all around. Also Vitavon c hubs and steering blocks. Best bellcrank is from Treal

You guys should take a weekend and do some maintenance on the track. It really looks rough 😁 And i would definately remove that fake grass if it was upto me (wich it isn't), or maybe a big section of it. It's so much more fun if the track is dirt or gravel and you can drift around the corners. It's just my opinion though.

Went with the Traxxas steel driveshafts and I regret it, way too heavy now and the plastic ones were doing just fine for me. And the short halfshafts just fine too on the wide kit 🤦 gave them away already though.

You should do a review of the XLF X04 and test its durability and see about what upgrades can be done on the cheap

That's why you use the plastic drive shafts, so that they can flex with the arms so they don't break

I did it the very moment it came out, it really makes the maxx a maxx. btw the maxx is a very tough truck almost unbreakable.

I don’t think I heard much discussion of “but is it better?” I will never cease to be amazed that Traxxas have the audacity to charge $600 USD with included driveshafts that are guaranteed to break sooner than later. Then they have the further audacity to charge $100 USD for the proper replacement parts.

I've modified mine with the wide maxx kit... The problem is, when broke something on the wider arms, you dont get parts to fix it.. U must buy a new wide maxx kit and this sucks... Buyed the CV Driveshafts but i've ordered the smaller ones so i get back to stock.. My mistake.. I think the wider arms broke earlier then the smaller ones..

Hey, Kevin, you should purchase the Kronos XP V2 70 mph because it's fast and about and much like the Traxxas Maxx so it's not really dirt cheap but it'd be cool if you reviewed it and might even get it myself. BTW have subbed and liked the vid. also BTW get a Makita drill.
