This is probably one of the most difficult things that I'll have to navigate in my life. Yesterday was my last day working for Subispeed & FTspeed as I was let go after 8 years or dedication. I hope that this video can share some clarity on to what has happened and what you can expect to come next. I want to thank everyone for their support as I would not be able to be going through this without you.

This. Kevin's videos I keep coming back to. Everything is always professional and easy to understand. You can tell he went over modifications or repairs a hundred times, until he knew the process completely and could explain it. I'll be sticking around on this account, but I have no reason to visit the other, now.

Buy letting employees go who they have been paying top dollar is an afford for the company to save on employee cost and focus on their foundation to survive a potential recession.

Up until now I honestly thought you owned the company.. so that definitely speaks volumes on not only the dedication you showed to the company, but the legacy you were able to build around it. I can't possibly imagine what percentage of the companies growth is directly tied to you, and how you spoke on behalf of the company. I have very little doubts that you will bounce back, any company would be blessed to have someone like you as the face of their brand. This is definitely going to hurt their pockets for sure. Strictly from a business sense, I think from a business perspective that they see how big you yourself are becoming in the community, in the 86 scene, and even growing a decent KZfaq brand, that they probably saw you as future direct competition. You're spending your time, whether on or off the clock, to build your own thing on the side, even opening your own store. They probably felt threatened by the fact you may become bigger than they are in a certain sense and decided to let you go sensing that. It might even be a god send for you before it got to a point it could even be more messy had you continued growing to a point you out shadowed them in a certain respect. Business is run based on the bottom dollar, and as big as they are now thats what theyre gonna look at. Like everyone else said though, i think its a fresh opportunity to dedicate yourself 100% now to your own thing. Build your YT brand, your website, and so on. If anything id bet 1000 bucks, once word gets out, youre gonna get emails for amazing job offers from other people or businesses to come work for or with them.

Though at first glance this could be seen as the issue, if they had any business acumen at all - it does not make business sense to do so unless they couldn't afford him. As a business, you don't wont to fire or lose people from head hunting or other if they are such a contributor or future liability. You do everything to keep them so they don't feel compelled to leave or become a direct competitor.
@autofigure00
@autofigure00 Жыл бұрын
They fired him which now MAKES him a direct competitor. From an employer / business perspective as someone else commented they wouldnt fire him over that, theyd do their best to make him be a big part of the company. They benefit more from HAVING a potential future competitor because they are a good / valuable employee. They wouldve tried to hold onto him as long as possible to have the benefits of him as an employee and to prevent him from being a competitor.

I have never seen a Subispeed video or one of your videos. Listening to you explain where your mind is at, is relatable. Sorry to hear a chapter ended a way you didn't expect. Sometimes, like visiting Tokyo or driving that car out on the track is something you would never expect, so is this. In this situation, I've thanked everyone for the memories internally to find closure. Then look forward to finding those new things you never expect to experience. Thank you for sharing.

I haven’t been a fan of the FTspeed channel or yours for too long, but I always loved watching the videos you’ve been a part of. Your intro, your smile, your realistic personality behind the camera we’re all parts that I looked forward to. I watched videos of parts I wasn’t going to install on my own car, but I watched them to see the content you made, the content you made entertaining. What separates you from other KZfaqr’s cars is the fact that everything you did to the FR-S was something not just for looks but for function. I would have almost never heard about Verus if you didn’t make the videos you made. Now I have a red FR-S, full aero, underbody braces, Ace exhaust, tune, etc, and all of its functionality was inspired by your videos. I know the videos will not stop, but may take a break for now until you can get some things under control, but they have impacted me and a lot of other people more than you’d think. You made a lot of what the 86 platform has become. Keep the head up and we all look forward to hearing some good news in the future.

Brother don’t look at this as a defeat… it is probably your time to come up with your own company or business, when something like this happens is because there is something bigger waiting for you and you have so many people greatful for everything you have done for the Subie community, keep you head up, you’ll be surprised with what is coming for you, I don’t have a Subie right now and I will still buy parts from you to support you! God bless man and thanks for everything! You helped me many many times with the DIY videos!

Hey Kevin, I honestly have been out of the subie game for a few years now, but I would check in on subispeed just to see your update videos because they were a blast. Subispeed can rot now. Getting fired sucks for a little bit and then another GREATER opportunity will show its face and it might suck to jump into at first but youll become a better person for it. So keep your head up and just keep going and it'll all work out! Here for you my man!

Kevin - I know nothing about Subispeed or you at this point. I saw your video tonight on the QuickJack stands (as I was doing some research on your video came up). Great video BTW. At the end your closing comments about being fired piqued my curiosity so I found this video. Heart wrenching to be sure. You picked up another subscriber my friend. I am 61 and had a similar story that happened to me about 13 years ago so I can relate. You appear to be a man of character, integrity and talent. That will take you far. Best wishes and I look forward to what you do next!

Hello Kevin I follow your channel for a while now and i still will view your video's in the future. You don't need Subispeed or their workshop to get it better in the future. Believe in your own person and you and your channel will grow. You are still young and can reach big things if you keep going on. Take your change to use the time that you get now in a positive way. Think forward, not back! Many greets and support from a 56 years "old" man from the Netherlands.😉

Just know that what you have been able to do over the last 8 years has been nothing short of incredible. Always remember that.
