Speaking about pregnant women, I had a Y-He-Tae coworker who was clearly pregnant; ready to give birth but she never talked about it to me; the only other person in our office room. So I never brought it up. One day, I got caught in our office mail room when our other coworkers (of color) were talking about why she never talks about her pregnancy and why she's wearing a jacket in hot weather. All of a sudden, a coworker suggests I host an office baby shower for her. I flat out said no. She says ur mean. I said ur asking me to celebrate a pregnancy for a woman who never talks to us about being pregnant, NO.

I think for a lot of platforms, they love using blk women as a target because we get them views and interactions. It's aggravating always having to argue with our own people. They never have the full story. You never see them go hard on men in the way they do blk women. It's a sad world.

I've seen plenty of people roast crusty or badly represented men. It's been done often, it's not a big deal when people do it now. That's why it gets more attention when women are "shamed" or "roasted" because people will typically react strongly to it, whereas roasting or shaming men, people would just laugh at it without a second thought.

Why can't we be comfortable? Everybody else can be comfortable but black women have to be on the go 24/7.. 🤷🏾‍♀ Since when did pride be our outward appearance? So making a 5 figure salary but dressing comfortable on a plane automatically diminishes your worth? ... Make it make sense 🤷🏾‍♀ When did our worth be subdued or belittled to wearing a bonnet. White women wear bandanas and messy buns all the time, do we see that as them diminishing their worth? No wonder we feel exhausted all the time because society gives us no permission to just be... By these people continuously making these false narratives of our worth and pride, and what they should look like.

I’m not going no where with my bonnet on unless I’m sleeping. Monique sounds like every black mama over the age of 50…. Look presentable when you’re going out in public. Love the fro Angel 🖤

If my memory serves me right. In the past Monique indicated that she never shaves her legs. She wore dresses with hairy legs. Is that her best??? 🤷🏾‍♀️

Right... and I’ve even had TSA check my wig before 🙄 so maybe if I was wearing a bonnet I could’ve just went straight through 🤷🏾‍♀️

Why wasn’t Monique clever enough to flip this into a joke like that!? Watch sis get through TSA then put on her clothes lol.

Firstly, Angel's hair is LIFE! Secondly, I agree with Angel's position regarding Mo'Nique's methods in addressing the "public appearance". I was just having a conversation the other day with a friend where I told him, "You can't fuss without an alternative." Meaning, you can't criticize, complain, fuss, make a big deal about a perceived problem and yet not offer a viable solution or alternative to said problem. Mo'Nique's reposting of that photo to "make a point" really had the opposite effect. And even in doing that, she still didn't offer a solution. To quote Kev, "Just hush!" LOL
