Love these project videos. Little tip I saw on KZfaq (delboys garage) for trim bits and bobs is to double sided tape them on top of an old spray can or something like that and then when you spray them you can pick it up, turn it side to side, etc. It stops the surface of what you’re painting them upon getting in the way. Might help you or someone else. Keep up the good work mate, stay safe.

Great to see you’ve got the lights working & you’ve nearly got all the parts you need for ur ST. Some of the jobs you did there I use to do when I worked on the buses. I use to use very smooth sandpaper when I use to prime & gloss the odd panels on the Buses 🚍. Or I would use the sander for quickness. But main job was always checking & changing oils & greasing propshafts stubs & other areas that needed done. Thanks very much for the memories Kevtee very much appreciated Pal. Top man. 👍👍 Oh I also checked & worked lights among other jobs like reving up building up air pressure etc Pal.

Got my MOT tomorrow, gotta buy some h4 as LEDs are now evil as per DoT. I got TRW discs and pads to go on after.. I don't mind a minor if the ones on nearly at the end. The last 5 mots be good. Just a cat cleaner and that's it. 2 things keV, upper front grill can be pulled out for access to headlights and probably go for a K&N recharge kit, to clean and re oil the cone. My shocks etc are grande (he says) luckily.. left upper mount strut bolt looks as a bit worse for wear. You can get caps for these.

in a way glad that it was just a tester MOT so you know what to expect the outcome to be, I am not sure what I would have done in the same situation, because a bit pointless when you knew the discs and pads needed changing before an MOT, but at the same time something else more important could have come up like a major welding job like the older fords were well known for at 10 years of age. so would have been a waste of time and money if the car was a writeoff as in needing say £500 in welding, as well as the discs pads etc. so I can understand sending it for a pre-mot test to check the major things that a car can fail the mot for.
@michaelthomas36463 жыл бұрын
whereas things like lights are only a five minute job unless you got a water bottle and battery directly blocking access to the lights!! stupid idea whoever thought of water right next to a battery, and blocking access to something that needs changing as often as a cheap £4 set of bulbs. which can be as little as every month or two.

I'm in need of flushing my fiesta brake system, so if you can please could you go into detail? Thank you!
@KevTee3 жыл бұрын
It's already filmed but hopefully there's enough detail in there for you, pretty simple process 👍
@sammytheseal23073 жыл бұрын
It really is simple and theres many videos covering it. The principle remains the same regardless of the make/model. Remove the fluid from the reservoir, start with the wheel furthest away from the reservoir. Etc etc Be prepared for bleed nipples to snap off if they haven't been touched for a while. Beware that brake fluid is highly corrosive to paintwork and skin Also take care to dispose of it properly Make sure your new brake fluid is new and bought recently and kept sealed until you use it. Never leave the bottle of fluid with the top off as it absorbs water and it will ruin it and your braking system 👍

@@chrisgraver2112 that's good of them! Most would fail it so they get more money on the retest
@sammytheseal23073 жыл бұрын
@@jamie123b That's not the case. They can't charge for a retest within 10 days if the work is done at the garage. 2 days if it's taken away 👍 If you've got two number plate lights, only one needs to work and you'll get an advisory for the other 👍 It's a simple enough fix though so it's worth doing beforehand
@jamie123b3 жыл бұрын
@@sammytheseal2307 oh OK good to know. I will probs do it before then. Also my reversing light has been out for well over a year, but passed with no advisories last mot. The reverse bulbs are fine so I think it is the reverse switch under the car but I don't know how to change it
@sammytheseal23073 жыл бұрын
@@jamie123b Yes reverse light is also only a fail on cars after 2008/2009 I believe. Are you getting any voltage at the light fitting? If so then could be a bad earth/corrosion causing high resistance. If not, check the fuse Then you can try the switch Look underneath the car at the gearbox. You'll see a cable with 2 wires feeding into it with a black multiplug. Disconnect it and unscrew the switch from the gearbox. (You may lose some gearbox oil so have something handy to plug the hole) You can test it on the bench with a multimeter if you have one, you may be lucky and be able to clean the switch up. But they're cheap enough to replace if it's faulty/you can't test it Hope that helps 👍
