Almost 2024 and Lamont and Tonelli are still on the air in the Bay Area. Opie is “podcasting” from a noisy bar, Anthony is recovering from heart surgery and nursing his dying “network”, and Jim and Sam are still sucking it up at SiriusXM while kvetching about Jim’s new pre-op man-wife

Yeah... no they shouldn’t. Sam and jimmy could do the exact same thing and not even be stealing the bit... you’re right about one thing though. Anthony would have to either call in or come in for the month. Opie can continue doing his impressions of “footprints” and giving his opinions of good food in NYC for all I care.

Stations would probably have to keep records and have a signed statement declaring that the person called was an actor. FCC would have to wait for complaints if a show makes real prank calls, and since radio stations are ultra safe these days and don't want to face heavy fines, they look down at making real prank calls. DJs would prefer not to get fired, therefore, they make fake calls.

O&A had some of the douchiest moments early on in their run. Opie (pre-Ant) was the fucking worst. Come to think of it, even with Ant, Opie did some cringy shit all the way up to his failed podcast.
