Hannah, you almost had me in tears. KG was a special place my Granddad would take me. Just the two of us, on the bus from Ealing. He would walk me all day in KG. We would walk thru all the hot houses. He would tell me about all the plants (he was an avid gardener). It was our time together. I lived in California, so I cherished my summers in the land of my birth and hearing my Granddad tell Nan, “taking the girl out for the day.” Off we would go to that otherworldly land called Kew, our treat a 99 from the Mr. Whippy. My childhood trips were back in the 70’s and 80’s, but I remember those cherished trips, just my Granddad and me. He died in 1986 and I miss him like it was yesterday.

Beautiful memories of your Grandad. Me too had Grandad take me in 60's to Kew as his Canadian granddaughter special day out from Bishops Stortford. Loved it. To think they survived the Wars and bombing, rationing. Gardening helped them survive I think plus they were experts. I wish they were all still here.

Wife and I came to England (from the states) April/23 for a 10 day stay - after around 6 days, we made it to Kew Gardens. We were staying near Blackfriars, so we took the underground to I think Embankment (District Line), then took a ferry down the Thames (past Craven Cottage - am a football fan, so that's on the bucket list (ok, am a Spurs fan and yes, got to see them lose ffs)) and made it to Kew Cottage. Saw about 80% of what Hannah saw. She wasn't kidding about getting tired - we were there about 5 hours and legs started giving out. What a great place. Got back to the underground (Kew Station) and back to Blackfriars. Thinking all we bought there was a tea-towel and a Xmas ornament. If you're ever in London for an extended stay - Kew Gardens is a good place to go! btw Hannah's wit is spot on.

It feels like your in the Amazon with all the beautiful plants. You done a wonderful job trying to film as much as u can. Thee only down side to Kew is there isn't a lot of eating place there. And the queues are crazy. As u can imagine summer time it's gets pack. Well done walking and getting all your steps in. You must been exhausted when u got home. Taxi home must cost u a fortune. My late parents used to take me to Kew Gardens in the 1970s, so it was all quite nostalgic. Thanks Hannah for the longer than usual upload, shopping videos work fine with 25 minutes, but great locations and dining reviews can easily embrace more. Thank you so much for this Kew vlog, Hannah. We often, 60+ years ago, often walked down the Thames footpath to Richmond Park for the day with a picnic. It was there that I learnt not all "rocks" were rocks 😂. I am positive the Grand Pagoda was painted red and gold. Also, you didn't visit the oldest tea house, I believe in UK, just down the road from the entrance. In this little place they serve the oldest cheesecake recipe. Only the owner of the shop is allowed to know ghe recipe and it has been passed from owner to owner for centuries. It was too expensive for my parents to take us in, but there have been documentary pieces down the decades. I believe it was made first for either Henry VIII or Elizabeth I. ❤❤

Kew used to have a one penny entrance fee; love the Hercules Fountain there - London periphery; Hampton Court gardens (free-entry-side has a nice rose-garden), Painshill, and Claremont parks are also interesting and well worth visiting - thanks for posting - TC !!👍🙂

I remember the 1p entrance fee price (or was it 1d?) It was displayed on a very ancient-looking polished brass plaque at the gate. Those were the days...

Hannah, your smile in this video is infectious, Kew and it's beauty really hit your soul. I would recommend a day touring with a friend who knows all the plants, it adds another dimension to the experience.

Hannah, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this video. We have put Kew Gardens on the list of places we would like to spend a day if we get to London. We usually travel in the countryside when we visit as I prefer the open spaces and history and friendliness of small towns and villages. but a week in London may be our next trip.😊 Thank you.

I love all the benches for a relax after walking a lot. I have to mention, when we were at Chelsea Gardens two weeks ago, there were not enough places to sit. i get that they want people to keep moving for the shop areas, but a few more spots to relax would have been great. Love KG and I am sorry we missed it.

I love to take a crossbody tote when I go to places like this, it's so much easier on my shoulder. I just finished gardening on my patio, refilling my hummingbird feeders and girl I am sweatin' buckets! It's usually a dry heat here in southern California but not this week! I feel like I'm in Florida, just minus the crocs 🤣
