Keying with Primatte and Boris FX Silhouette [Workflow Tutorial Pt. 1]

Primatte is a fast way to create great looking keys with green screen and other chromakey backgrounds. But keying is only the start to a great composite. Follow Ben Brownlee as he starts the process of creating a keyed image on a background.
We will learn how to start the initial key, refine our matte and keeping in fine hair and edge detail by avoiding the temptation of overkeying. Finally we look at doing simple color matching between foreground and background, and how light wrap helps to blend in edges.

Great tutorial! Is this version of Primatte different from the one in BCC plugins for PR and OFX? Is this GPU accelerated on mac M1 silicone?

The version of Primatte in Silhouette is GPU accelerated on both Mac OS and Windows, whereas the BCC version is a mix of CPU and GPU passes depending on which options are enabled. Other than that, they are largely the same plugin, with some UI differences depending on the host application.

Are you talking about Primatte specifically or Silhouette in general? If it's Primatte, check out the "Pulling the Perfect Key" series here - bite-sized techniques for going as deep as you need to with keying : borisfx.com/videos/?tags=&search=primatte If it's Silhouette, start with some of the Silhouette Essentials series : borisfx.com/videos/ Like any high level compositor, there is a learning curve to it. But once you master the thought process behind what you're trying to do, it gets a lot easier.
