Join the CSIS International Security Program for the 2024 Global Security Forum on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. As CSIS's flagship annual security conference, the Forum convenes leaders from the defense and national security communities to discuss the top security challenges facing the country and the world. This year's conference will feature keynote discussions with General Charles Q. Brown, Jr., Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the Honorable Avril Haines, Director of National Intelligence.
The theme of the 2024 Global Security Forum is "Gathering Strength in a Gathering Storm." Speakers will address how the United States can muster its strengths to counter multiple global challenges, posture for uncertainty, and prepare U.S. forces to deter and defeat aggression.
This year's Forum will also feature conversations with senior leaders from the government, military, private sector, and think tank community.
The conference will be held at CSIS headquarters and virtually. Further details on the schedule, participants, and registration will be updated below in the leadup to the Forum in April.
This event is made possible by the generous support of Leonardo DRS.

I've appreciated Gen Charles Q Brown since I heard him present as the Commander of US Indo Pacom. I really respect his forward view, aggressive yet measured tone, and connected, human sound. I'm a retired officer of much lower rank. Big respect for this General

It is a fact that we have the Strongest NCO corps on earth. Ask any officer who is tasked to do anything then that same officer asks the NCO if it's possible. It's highly unlikely that that NCO will say it can't be done.

These two have uttered a lot of words without being at all coherent. They probably said combatant command 30x’s. We’re lucky our adversaries don’t have the ability to project sustained military power. Because these politicians would fold under any real combat.

On the one hand it appears that China has lost any sense of fundamental reality, within the bounds of its projected international image. I am referring to China’s incessant, and unremitting accusing, and recriminating of the West for all China’s miseries, misfortunes and failures. Failures predominantly precipitated and provoked by Chinese policy, and actions(own goals). (However all this must be seen from an internal perspective, as well as from China’s ‘fellow’ autocracies, and junta’s internal perspectives.) These systems control their internal messaging, and thus blaming the West, is not only feasible, it is also practical, and pragmatic.

not everyone believes in global hemegeny, as a matter of fact those opposed are the overwhelming majority. if I were a deep state operative, or member of the directorate I would change or adjust us international goals. the global south population (Inc. PRC) is the vast majority population. there is no longer a dependency on us manufactured goods. PRC, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Japan have replaced total dependency on Washington which is no longer a major manufacturing nation. all the sanctions and lawmakers will cause the global south to investigate BRICS as an alternative to liberal democratic global elites. after all we do lead in national debt interest payments on $35 trillion usd. every quarter we print a trillion usd to pay the interest on the debt. State Department under Biden Regime is great with propaganda Karin john pierre John Kirby and Hillary Clinton ex government Jacob Sullivan, abroad, Jake the snake Sullivan. they NEED diplomats desperately none could negotiate a cocktail fight.

@@robertamann2093 Nice try comrade. Rather than respond to the unusually high amounts of distortions, falsehood fabrication, and clear propaganda held within your comments… I’ll simply add, China has been, and continues to be the aggressor both globally and regionally. Notwithstanding internally. Here’s an interesting fact. China spends a considerable amount 1.67 trillion ($231.3 billion) on the official defense budget, how much China actually spends on its military is widely debated. The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) estimates the overall 2022 figure to be $292 billion and the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) puts the number at $319 billion. Both figures are considerably higher than that year’s official defense budget of approximately $230 billion. Here’s another interesting fact: China spends more than this massive figure on its internal military. The CCP’s civil, domestic, military apparatus has been growing at a far greater rate than it’s external military. Why would any country need to do this? Why would any happy confident country need to do this? Simply put. They would not.
