I'm not surprised by the gravy and the mashed potatoes. It's far less expensive to transport dried powders, and those will store much longer than fresh versions. Having grown up on boxed mashed potatoes, this news isn't nearly enough to put me off of the stuff.

True story…my mom passed away in 2021. I was exhausted and didn’t want to make dinner so I stopped and got some to go. I woke up sick as a dog. Food poisoning. Couldn’t even go to the funeral of my mom 😭😭😭

The title suggests there are only certain items they refuse to eat and then the video lists pretty much everything they serve.

And here I am in Germany, eating Maggi mashed potatoes and Knorr gravy that came in a powder bag.

I’d just be happy if I could find extra crispy anywhere. It’s like trying to find an ice cream machine that works at McDonalds.

It doesn't surprise me the gravy and mashed potatoes come from packets of powder, they taste like instants which I never liked.

I've seen KFC staff walk from the staff toilets and not wash their hands and walk straight into the back of KFC. ( I worked at a services and worked at another food location) I raised a concern and was told it doesn't matter they sanitise their hands before, after and every 10 mins .

I was hired at a KFC for assistant general manager.. spent two days there and left lol. It was literally the most disgusting place I've worked in my life and I've been working in all sorts of food fields for seventeen years

So, by this rationale, and this list, people should avoid KFC and seek fried chicken and other items elsewhere.

But naw, don't hate on the insta mashed and stuff like that.. multiple restaurants do that, there's no way you can't at some point and it's honestly not that bad lol, like those Walmart idahoan taters? Freaking good af lol

Yes, that's how we made potpies, but what do you expect, to throw away chicken that wasn't sold? That would be aweful. Besides, days old cooked chicken doesn't go bad if it's refrigerated

3:29 - 3:38 Situations like this is why I avoid fast food/restaurants as you don't know what's truly going on in the back. When you cook food yourself, you know where it's been, how it was cooked, how it was taken care of, who cooked it, and therefore a safe and worry-free experience cooking/eating any/all food at home. Now, if a restaurant is run by The Terminator, then I'd probably consider buying from there as I'm sure The Terminator is clean and won't pick up food after it has fallen on the floor. I'LL BE BACK!

Moral of the story. Make your own or go to your local owned Co-op that just installed a brand new fryer. If you're super lucky, you can grabbed cold fried chiken they made yesterday for a few dollars less! Take it home and warm in a toaster oven. Supporting local business and minimizing food waste! Awesome!!

The fact that they use powdered potatoes and powdered gravy leads me to conclude that they Do Not make the fried chicken or chicken pot pie. I am sure they are premade and just re heated or cooked. Most likely from frozen. They are not high end restaurants that makes things from scratch. I think you need to get more accurate facts.

I will not touch fast food of any sort for multiple of reasons.

Old recipe used the crispy bits and jelly from the fryer all those yummy chicken juices. However in the UK they made a new recipe about 7 years ago and they now use just powder . But I guess some small branches didn't get the memo or don't care maybe it's a country thing

Any fast restaurant you eat at has powdered potatoes, gravy, and scrambled eggs mixed with water (or they pour it out of a can where someone else has already mixed it with the water).

I do know some KFC have a buffet table in them. Food on buffet table is food that has been removed from the front hot food line. Cooked food on hot front line has to remove after certain amount of time by health codes. 45-60 minutes. But they don’t have to throw instead put on buffet line. Where it can sit for several more hours.

Didn’t even mention the coleslaw, I can imagine it’s made in a similar fashion. The Colonel himself remarked once the instant gravy tasted like wallpaper paste. Wendy’s makes their chili from leftover hamburger meat.

Every day at approximately 8 pm, I eat a 36 piece bucket of KFC for its highly nutritious and delicious value. This is the pinnacle of healthy eating.

I am very sure I have seen a Mashed video praising KFC gravy while trashing another restaurant's gravy.

I occasionally get KFC. Then I realize why I only occasionally get it. It’s just not that good anymore. I miss the wedges, that was the best thing they had. The new nuggets are not bad. Those chicken little sandwiches were underrated too though a bit pricey for being so small, much like sliders from White Castle.

Whats wrong with using the left over bits to make gravy? That's exactly how you make a gravy. And using "chemicals" is just a scaremongering word.

Never could stand the powdered potatoes. I grew up on KFC and loved it back then (70's and on). The chicken was hot and moist. I don't know what happened but somewhere along the way the chicken became just warm and dry. The stores got dirtier and more run down. Now I drive by KFC and note that hardly anyone goes there. Chick-fil-A always seems to have long lines and their wait times are so much shorter than KFC. KFC lost its mojo and YUM foods doesn't care. I'd like to see KFC slowly disappear similar to the way Boston Market disappeared in my area.

I work at lfc amd majority of this is mot true but the gravy n mash potatoes but its not nasty at all thats how majoroty of people make theres at home anyway sorry were FAST FOOD and dont have time to cut up, cook, and mash every potatoe day were already hand breading the chixkwn and making the biscuits

I was a manager at KFC 2002 to 2005. The gravy and potatoes are powdered. The pot pies and BBQ sandwiches are made of old debone chicken. The flour and seasoning was fresh everyday though.

If you didn't know 95% of the information in this video, then you don't know the first goddamn thing about cooking. Of course the gravy is powdered and made from mixing gravy powder and hot water, making real gravy takes a lot of time, it is not a fast food item. The mashed potatoes are instant…? Oh my God tell me it's not so, if you didn't know, then you were mentally challenged, did you think they were some little guy in the back doing nothing but peeling potatoes and chopping them up and then boiling them, and then mashing them? And chicken pot pie by definition is something that usually uses leftover chicken. It's 90% of the reason for the recipe's existence.

this is so dumb. did you think people really thought they made gravy and mashed potatoes from scratch? and using leftover chicken for pot pies? so? do you have any idea how many places do the to make chicken salad or chicken soup or even pot pies? the only one that might be problematic is the flour, depending on how often and how well they sift it and how it gets stored. you guys are really stretching this one and trying to generate outrage over things that are not only common practice, but also perfectly fine. 😂

The same gloves they use to prepare food , they use to take your money and handle change !!! I`ve seen them make up a chicken sandwich and open boxes from a stack on the floor to take out more bags of food .

KFC’s quality has really declined thru the years…..if and when I have the urge (rarely these days) to eat at KFC I skip all the sides and desserts and just get chicken only and make my own Filipino/adobo fried rice with garlic and enjoy it with original KFC chicken….but that’s few and far between.Also KFC’s customer service really sucks! Popeyes on the other hand is really good and tasty however their employees are hostile and combative(Las Vegas Blvd and windmill ) The one place that has excellent chicken,sides,desserts and customer service? Is Jolibee chicken! So freakin good!
