Averaging 20 rebounds would be hard. Not that he can't do it. But players these days are too talented and won't miss enough to give Dre the opportunity to average 20 boards. Plus he needs to sit and rest. If he played like 40+ minutes, possibly. But getting 16 last year and now is already the most in the last 15 years or so, which was Ben Wallace.

Dre numbers are misleading

That's called a ring flash. It's a circular light that mounts around the end of the lens. Traditionally they're used in macro photography (ie, taking pictures of small stuff like bugs) so that you get good lights on the whole thing instead of weird shadows. Over the last few years, you see them used like this for close ups on people. You can always recognize it by the circular white reflection in the eyes. Personally I think it looks bad and the style element of it is already played out.

Drummonds learned nothing

They have been saying that every year for the last 7 years. He's only this. He only that. He's a veteran in the league now. He can be dominant but he don't have the drive or motor. He'd rather wear skinny Jean's at a Nickelodeon award show than dominate.

Top 3 would be Rodman, Drummond, Wallace, IMO. Not to take away from Wilt and Kareem. But they played in a less athletic and smaller league, where their size and strength dominated everybody. So them averaging like 20 rebounds per season is pretty skewed statistically.

Rattmaster86 rebounding has less to do with athleticism than you think. It helps but just wanting it plays a huge roll. If you watch Kareem, he blocked out a 6’0 guy the same he would a 7’0 guy. Fundamentals will win mostly when rebounding. Watch Rodman and Barkley. They would lock up with guys and just outhustle. They had very little bounce.

@@russellwalton5646 Rebounding has a lot to do with athleticism: Lower body strength, explosion, Reflexes, Hand eye coordination. And of course, it helps if you are a massive heavy dude with long arms. Smarts only play a role in positioning. And of course, barkley, rodman etc. had all of the above.

I agree. I don't think he can win as the team's best player/captain/leader, compared to Jokic and Embiid. Those guys are just better. But, Drummond could end up on a team that takes advantage of his capabilities. If he landed in DC, he would immediately be behind Beal and Wall (even after returning from injury) in the team's pecking order, unlike Dwight, who immediately became 2nd to Kobe (and eventually best player once Kobe went down with injury) when he joined the Lakers. Dwight joined Houston next, but it was the same problem. He immediately was considered greater or equal to Harden (before Harden really took off as a player), but it was more evident that it wasn't true over time. Joining the Hawks and Hornets didn't help either. No one good enough to humble him Drummond can't be like that, especially when he's not as good as peak Dwight

I always wondered why he wasn't a better shot blocker since he is such a good athlete and obviously has good timing to be able to get all those rebounds. From what I have seen this year his defense has improved a lot. Especially on the help side.

I always felt he was foul-conscious going back all the way to UConn, like he doesn't want to be too aggressive & get taken out of the game early due to foul trouble. There are quiet a few great players that are like that.
