That ending though...🤣🤣🤣🤣 So I had to do some research cause all this time I thought endlers were guppies, when in fact, they are a specific species of poecelia like guppies. Interestingly enough, with the genus poecelia, is that they're all called mollies; with the exception of guppies & endlers. I'm guessing this explains why guppies can breed with mollies, but the resulting muppy or golly will be infertile. Also, the family Poeciliidae, to which the genus poecelia belongs to, also includes sword tails & platties. I remember back in the 90s, a customer arguing with a Petland Discounts employee about the tank label reading "sword tail mollies" & that it should say sword tail platy. I'm guessing the customer was right...🤷🏾‍♂️ This is why I love this channel, I not only learn, but end up learning more because I'm prompted to research further....

Been breeding fish for nearly 50 years. Some other easy ones are the more common killifish , kribensis , and rainbows. Regarding shrimp , the easiest are the Neocaridina davidii (syn. heteropoda) types like cherry , blue velvet , etc. as they breed readily in normal aquarium water. Those in the genus Caridinia , like crystals , require specific water conditions created from RO water that is re-mineralized. Actually , many fish are easy to get to spawn/breed. Raising the fry is the hard part. Many are very small and need infusoria to start off.

Just 8 but i cant handle more anyway. Havent lost any and cant wait to see them grow, it really is special!
@TedH71

They probably had babies every month but all the babies got eaten. Yeah, you kind of have to put the mother in a container where she can't eat her babies when they're born. With Endlers, you don't. They will eat 1 to 3 babies and get full and let the others live. Guppies tend to eat the WHOLE litter.

I just wanted to say thank you to John and Lisa. Their videos have helped me setup my first ever 65 gallon planted goldfish tank. Thanks to them I gained the necessary knowledge I needed to make it successful. The first few weeks the goldfish constantly dug up the plants but eventually they rooted deep into the sand. Again, thanks for everything!

I accidently "bred" my first single snail. She turned out hundreds (if not thousands) of baby snails that I didn't even know existed until long after she was gone. She died in some corner and I didn't know anything about snails; I still don't. She dissolved in her corner and left behind a shell. After changing tanks, I noticed that there were many snails living within the gravel. Before I knew about the baby snails, I was disappointed that the snail didn't last long; but she ended up contributing to the longest living legacy of the entire tank. That extra civilization under the rocks was a nice thing to think about while I watched the community and relaxed.

I have to agree about angels being easy to breed. We bought 8 and ended up with a breeding pair. We were NOT expecting that. In fact we didn't really want breeding. Several batches of eggs laid on one of the canister filter's intakes inside the tank, then we noticed the parents moving the fry by mouth to one of the decorations. Never had any fry survive very long. We're going to watch your other video to see why we can do differently this time. We're starting the tank fresh and I've decided angel fish will be in there again.

My baby green swordtails and redtail Dalmatian platies have officially replaced their parents in my tank. I didn't realize how easy it was to breed them until I got them home. It's crazy, but a lot of fun! Mosquito fish are also very easy to breed, like guppies. I just wish that I had known that the mosquitoes were mosquitoes before I put them into my guppy tank. :( They killed all of my guppies and took over.

They aren't hard to breed once you have a pair. The reason people say they're hard to breed is just because you have a male and a female doesn't mean they'll pair up, so you usually have to get a juvenile group so that they can choose. The problem comes as when they mature they'll become aggressive to all other angels other than their partner, so you have to keep them all by themselves or with their chosen partner. You could just buy a proven breeding pair though, but they'll be more expensive.

Cool video, I do have a question about white clouds though. I have a group of 8 in a ten gallon with live plants in the brown substrate with a piece of wood. I have a sponge filter cover on my side mounted cleaner. I also have a air stoneas well. I feed then flakes and dried blood worms, dried brine shrimp and tube worms in a regular rotation. My question is will this types of food sources be ok for just hatched babies? I also have another question about shrimp keeping. This tank I now have my clouds in was a tank I set up to be a shrimp tank only. Well, I bought about 30 cherry shrimp from 2 different online sellers and within about 2 weeks every one of them had died, starting with the larger ones first. I feed them the same rotation of foods as above plus the nano blue pressed tabs everyone seems to say they need for the extra calcium and minerals they need. I checked my Ph and hardness and they are within the parameters they needed. SO what went wrong? The tank had been set up for about a week before I got them. I used the filter gunk from my older established tank to help start and cycle the tank plus put a handful of snails in to get things going. What did I do wrong? Thanks for putting out some of the best videos on KZfaq about this hobby.

One of the easiest fish to breed are the cory catfish. I had cories breed for me several times in a two-gallon bowl with no heater, filter, or lights. Furthermore. I rarely change the water. Cories are like bettas they breathe air. But they are better suited to life in bowls than bettas because they can tolerate cooler temperatures, particularly the salt and pepper cories, which are the ones that breed in my bowls. I have also found kribs to be easy. The easiest cichlids are generally thought to be first convict cichlids, and second kribs. My kribs have breed ten to fifteen times in ten gallons or less, once again no electrical equipment and only rare water changes. Once or twice they breed in a five-gallon tank. It is far easier to give kribs away than to give convicts away. On the other hand, I knew a guy who had angelfish breed in a five-gallon tank. I do not think I ever tried to keep angelfish in less than a twenty, but they breed for him in five.

Do mouthbrooders spit out the eggs/fry when they eat? Or do they just not eat for a few weeks while they take care of the babies?
