Not about the number of perfect push-ups you can do. When you do a partial focusing on the bottom range you keep a consistent tension on the pecs. Try doing a “30 down” (look it up) push-up workout in that style you’d be surprised

A proper push up is slow and has a complete range of motion all the way up and down and is equal in speed both ways; but the truth is, you dont build explosiveness from slow, methodical movements like this… building muscle? Sure. Building fortitude? Sure. Building fighting strength and explosiveness? Nope.
