Conor may not be smart in many ways but he's a gifted speaker and extremely charismatic which is what made him into the biggest UFC star. This dude doesn't have the speaking skills of a Conor but he used the template that Khabib laid out (mystique, undefeated, smesh) and used it to market himself. That's smart. Guess what Islam is always with Khabib and he didn't even do that infact Khabib himself didn't talk like that until he was champ and was still more humble than this dude. Khamzat knows what sells.

If you pay close enough attention you can tell his English is fine too. He doesn't look puzzled even when reporters speak fast. @Ben Dover exactly. A lot of people dont realize that theres tons of fighters who come out and express only a small portion of their thoughts due to the language barrier. And often times the translators the UFC uses are trash and dont translate correctly. Once these guys do an interview in their native tongue, they express themselves a lot easier and more thoroughly.

@OK Well first of all Usman has actually fought in UFC against ranked opponents for years. Khamzat haven't. Anybody decent fighter can look amazing against non ranked opponents. Last year a lone many prospect hype jobs lost when they actually fought resistance. The fact that Khamzat declined fight with Luke "chin" Rockhold speaks volumes.

I always used to feel this guy gave off a more legitimate "tough guy" aura, and holy shit his life experience is on another level from almost anyone. Go read about the First and Second Chechen Wars and realize that was Khamzats life from birth to like 15 years old, dude has got to be completely jaded to violence of any kind.
