Order album: khruangbin.lnk.to/contodoelmundo
Globetrotting Texan trio Khruangbin announce their second album ‘Con Todo El Mundo’.
The video for the album's first single, 'Maria También', tells the story of Iranian women prior to the revolution of 1979. Celebrating their creativity, freedom and ability to express themselves, the video shows a side of women in the Middle East that often isn't seen in the Western world.
The women in the video are all part of a large network of artists, singers, dancers and songwriters who have been either exiled or silenced since the revolution. With the video, Khruangbin hopes to bring these remarkable women back into the spotlight and honour the artistry of silenced women everywhere.

The story of you Iranians makes me really sad. I met the Iranian owner of a restaurant here in my city in the Philippines. He's Bah'ai and left his country because of how the theocracy cracks down on people of his religion. His restaurant is full of photographic prints of landmarks in Tehran, Isfahan, and other historic cities. Though he now has a family here, oh boy does he miss his home so much. He's never gone back and until that horrible theocracy is deposed, I don't think he can ever return.

The female singers in the video, are not lost or forgotten after all these years. Although, they are living in diaspora, they are still performing and are being respected especially among older generations of Iranian fans. Enter the names such as , "Googoosh", or "Noosh afarin" , (two main characters in the video) in youtube search, and you'll come up with a lot of new songs! I was 12 years old, when the revolution in Iran happened in the late 70's, so this video is sort of nostalgic for me! Anyway, thnx Khruangbin!

@ffs reff I condemn tyranny in any form, whether it's Israel oppressing Palestinians, the US supporting Israel, the Shah, and the current Iranian government. Islamic tyrannies are no better or worse than Communist or fascist tyrannies, or any other kind. Personally I would rather live in a country with a secular government and allow people to practice whatever religion they were raised in, or choose for themselves, including no religion. But that doesn't mean secular governments are off the hook, as many have been corrupt and violent or propped up by more powerful governments with their own agendas. It's not about religion. Islam does not equal fanaticism.

How Iran was before and what it has become now because of politics and religion. Majority of people are unaware of this. That's how true Iran used to be, that was my mother's era, she talks to me about how she left when she was 18 because she didn't like seeing the changes. Also this came as a nice surprise to me. Khruangbin's awareness towards old Iran was very cool to see, and made me appreciate them even more. I didn't even know they had this video until Laura talked about it on a radio show! Hahah. I was here for the music but this is pretty awesome, these guys seem knowleadgeable and curious of the world's cultures and history! :) Hopefully one day Iran gets rid of the heavily influenced religion in the country. I am not a fan of it, as a Canadian Persian who spent a couple years growing up in Iran (age 8 to 14).

I wasn't going to order the special edition pink vinyl until later, then I saw it drop from 1000 to 80 in just 12 hours. So glad my insomnia made me check on it!!

Perfect harmony of the sound and the dance moves and facial expressions of beautiful free Iranian women. The spirituality of the sound can be seen in the facial expressions of these beautiful women from back then. Pure goose bumping, soul touching sound and video, respect
