UPDATE 1: "Overthrow's Taken Servitor boss has been re-enabled. Players who previously had their Motes of Light removed after defeating the boss will need to go to Orbit for the Exotic Mote to appear in their Consumables Inventory. That issue will no longer occur for future players who defeat the boss."

@@AcePlayz5525 The rock is removed when you complete the cyst mission there. If you didn't do it, you won't be able to get that vision. It's the only one locked behind a quest

You can leave the area and come back with progress saved as long as you don’t leave to orbit, or start a mission.

me and my friend has meat ball last an we thought we lost or progress and got locked out cause our motes where gone but it was actually inside the wall glitched in and we had to run around on the wall to get it.

I never fought the meatball boss but i have 3 of the traveler orbs and 9 other motes totaling 12 so once I collect the rest of the orbs i should be okay, right?

I havent tried this but it is an option if the meatball is the last you need you could try throwing your motes in the vault they may not be able to be saved that way but its just a thought i had

Also to let people know. The chest doesn't drop the mote of light. it will drop were you kill the boss. everytime i kill a boss, i run to the chest and i dont see the mote unilt i go back were i kill the boss and you can see the purple pyramid.

So me and my friend did the meatball last. The mote DOES drop, we predicted that the boss death animation likely just launched the exotic engram containing the mote across the way as we found it a considerable distance away from where it died. As for people having the mote and the chest still saying you lack something, you DO need the legendary variant of the gun to open the chest.

Any idea why when trying to go for other bosses solo, it just kept giving me the meatball in the blooming? Ive done blooming the least so Im pretty sure thats where some of my missing motes are. Also, motes can get launched pretty far by certain things. Alot of the time if you dont get a mote from a boss, the physical drop on the ground couldve been launched far away. It doesnt seem to go to your postmaster either so its very hard to find out what bosses are actually missing :/ Bungie is aware of the mote disappearing issue, its listed in the known issues forum page now.

Ive killed the solar hunter lucent hive in the landing 3 times in a row and he's given me 3 motes of light. My inventory is going up to. no idea if they will count tawrds the 17 you need but im at 14 now.

I'm 99% perecnt sure that the meatball boss is actually dropping the mote. I thought mine didn't but it had actually just dropped in a really weird place behind this tree pretty far from where I killed the boss and kind of out of sight. So people have a look aroud it might just be hidden.

Well whatever you do, do not kill the meatball last, since its probably the one that didn't drop it. If you kill it last, it will consume all of your motes and lock you out of the quest. Apparently it's a bug right now.

If you're checking which bosses you killed via triumphs - don't. Triumphs for defeating overthrow bosses, in all 3 locations, are bugged. If you don't remember which ones you defeated, just complete overthrow in each location. Ideally solo

Something to add, the khvostov quest us bugged for a lot of ppl. The quest for the cyst “smothering darkness” simply never shows up. Therefore you can never get the piece from there. Happens to myself, really sucks.

I’m unclear on what you mean by dont kill the meatball last. I need 2 motes. I have one more collectible to get and the meatball to kill. Are you saying to kill the meatball before picking up the final collectible?

Yes. And make sure to get the meatball to drop the mote first, even if it takes a few times of grinding to get it. The mote might actually fly away across the map so keep an eye out for it.

It means you’re missing a more or two. Your 17th mote will transform it into the exotic looking one. So you’ll need to re-farm any bosses that didn’t drop it for you

If you leave the area for the overthrow it still keeps your progress but if you leave the pale heart for too long then your progress is reset.

That depends. Did you kill the servitor/meatball boss? Because it was removed from the game yesterday, which would explain why you are one mote short. So if thats the case, you cant finish it right now. If you already got the mote from it and are one short, it might mean another one of the bosses did not drop it, which might require more farming.

I put it in the title but I didn't mention that you needed the legendary version because at the time I already had it and there was no indication that you needed it. As you found out yourself, if you have that exotic mote from getting 17 motes total and go up to the chest it still says you need an offering but there's no explanation to what it is. So either 1. You haven’t gotten the legendary version of the gun which you need to. A guide for that is linked in the description. You need it to get the exotic version. 2. You just need to walk around the side of the chest until you see the interact button because it’s a little buggy

anyone else not able to get through the waterfall in the seclusion? I've done all the alone in the dark quests to the point where its just repeating and I've run all the cysts multiple times

you have to activate the searing light cyst, and you can do that by talking to the bird at the entrance of the big orange cave where he is sitting

Well the meatball boss isn’t currently in the game. It was removed and bungie made a tweet about it. I covered it in a video to try and get the word out but basically you can’t progress until they add TV at boss back in.

Well bungie removed the servitor/meatball boss from the game. So it’s impossible to progress the quest right now since they’re working on a fix to people’s motes disappearing. :/

i collect all travelers and place them. golden chest dropped but i cant open it. it says "you lacking someting" but what is it ? ( i have 16 mote of light btw )

You need 17 motes and then that stack of motes will turn into an exotic one. You are probably missing one from the meatball guy, and you might have to farm a few times to get it to drop. Although if you remember getting the more from the meatball guy (aka Koftiks, the 3rd boss in the blooming) then maybe it’s a different boss that didn’t drop it :/ unfortunately there’s no way to know. It’s just that the meatball is the most inconsistent one. Then make sure you’ve gotten the legendary khvostov and you can open the chest

Did you get the legendary version of the khvostov? You need it in order to unlock the exotic version. I didn’t know this at the time so I put it in the video title. I have a guide for it in the description!

you must have 17 motes, probably have 16 or less motes that only after 17 motes it will turn into legendary mote

@@senkyou I have them all even the legendary one. But I saw another video where I need a lot more things than this video recommends. For example, you know keys (cyst i think that what they are call) you get from opening the golden chest, yea you need all 9 of them . Then you gotta do micah 10 alon in the dark. The quest tells you home many cyst you need after you collect all from the golden chest. After you do all that then you can get the motes of light and the exotic one at the end, and the collectable. Ones you do all that then go for the golden chest that gives the weapon.
