if you rub your two brain cells, you would conclude they have no idea that they are dealing with the sith. He never saw the master, he doesnt know anything about the master, and the jedi havent encountered a sith and survive to tell the tale since the wars with the sith empire. This is the case with the eu books like plagueis as well So if you were ki adi mundi in this time, why would you conclude you are dealing with a sith? The sith are still like a boogeyman since they havent been seen for so long

They would probably assume its just a random Dark Jedi or a member of some splinter order (which they did). Its one of the reasons the Jedi didn't believe Qui-Gon in TPM. You see a dude with a red lightsaber and assume he's a member of some cult that existed A THOUSAND years ago? Really? We *the audience* know its a Sith because we see them in Star Wars media all the time, the Jedi of this era only read about Sith in history books as things of a bygone era.

@@Tartersauce101they don’t want a scandal. In the high republic era, the Jedi were at odds with the senate. The senate wanted to eliminate their special status. Seeing them as unnecessary. They had more political threats in this era than the prequels. Eventually yoda would bend a knee to the senate and made the Jedi an arm of the republic.

Qui Gon was a bit unthordox for a jedi of his time, so maybe he dusted off old records in his spare time of what the sith were like? But even then he personally saw and encountered maul whereas none of these jedi saw the sith only a force sensitive assassin without a lightsaber

It should be noted that the High Republic introduced dozens of religious factions that see the Force in their own various ways (read the books or the comics). Due to this, it is really hard for the Jedi to identify who is a Sith when they go out to train or do field work. It wasn't until Maul (red lightsaber) that they realized the threat they face is the Sith.

Darkside force users and Sith aren't mutually exclusive. And maybe in this regard the Sith would be more of a group instead of a rule of 2 so perhaps he doesn't think 2 - Master/Apprentice would be Sith. There's lots of ways to interpret this it doesn't mean it breaks the lore.

Ki-Adi Mundi’s age does not change due to the fact that this show takes place 100 years prior to the Phantom Menace. Mathematically, Mundi was born in 93 BBY. This show takes place in 132 BBY, and the Phantom Menace takes place in 32 BBY. That means Ki-Adi Mundi is reasonably only 61 in the Phantom Menace. 132 - 93 = 39 93 - 32 = 61 Ki-Adi dies at 74 years old. (10 years go by between Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones while 3 years go by during the Clone Wars).

Listen I love Legends more than Disney but remember Disney’s canon is it’s own thing. Mundi therefore can be alive as minus legends material nothing confirms his age. Also dark side users are a thing and nothing confirms to Mundi this is a Sith. This was the case in legends too as Qui Gon had a pupil before Obi-wan called Xanatos who fell to the dark side and no one was like dude must be a Sith.

Horrible excuse. It might be legends, but this lore is like 25 years old and was basically written in conjunction with Episode One's release. It also didn't conflict with canon. Yet, this episode basically breaks that lore just to have a cameo interaction that contradicts the basic logic of what that character says later in the movies. It smells like another "Anakin blowing up the Deathstar" moment.

@arcc4 Disney, when creating a new canon, threw all the books, games and comics into legends, leaving only the Clone Wars series. Since Lucas didn't give his age, they could give him his own age, which doesn't have to be the same as in the legends. Legends was never canon to Lucas. Do you understand?

red lightsabers + all black clothing is literally sith or sith apprentice symbolism. If not, It is one of the most unlikely things in star wars history that a random dude bleeds his lightsaber, picks up some cool black clothing, and makes it his hobby to kill jedi while simultaneously being on par with Jedi Masters who have trained their entire lives (and mind you this takes place in the High Republic).

She’s obviously the dark side master, she wanted an apprentice to take the heat while she gained more power. Using qimir with Mae and osha as pawns was just part of the plan. Having her wimpy padawan suggest sol as the murderer is just another out for her to shift blame should the time come to reveal the sith

There’s multiple sources in canon that say he was born in 92 bby a few insiders guide books made by Lucas arts themselves said he was 60 in episode 1 and 70 in episode 2 making him born in 92 bby and a trading card from 2013 gave his birth year as 92 bby

I find it curious that Qui-Gon Jinn in Phantom Menace says "My only conclusion can be that it was a Sith lord." Are the Sith believed to be extinct by everyone or just members of the Jedi Council? If everyone believes the Sith are extinct, then why would Qui-Gon only believe it was a Sith that he fought and not like a rogue Darkside user? Perhaps there has been rumors spreading over the years that the Sith are actually alive and active?

If I were Disney, I would have told the SW fans that it's not THE Ki-Adi-Mundi from the Phantom Menace. It's his descendant who happens to have the same name as him, kinda like the 2 Kung Laos from Mortal Kombat.
