Thank you for posting this excellent tutorial. You saved my day. The 2023 Kia Soul is basically exactly the same except the gear shifter cover is different and I wasn’t able to remove it. But no matter I had just enough room to lift the center console up in order to recover something I had lost inside. This rental vehicle had a hole in its storage box (missing panel) and my keys fell right into this hole. Without this, I would never have figured out how to take this center console apart.

I've seen another video where they remove the trim on the right front passenger seat and have to cut part of the carpet to access the plug which is closer to the console side and was hoping to avoid cutting the carpet. 2013 with standard transmission everything else is the same except the screws under the shifter base cover it feels like the back is anchored down but can't see inside obviously
