As someone whose played waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much Rimworld to be healthy, watching that placement pattern for the Hydroponics basins dealt pure psychic damage straight to my brainstem. Excellent video!!

Since you're new to the game, I recommend looking up a way on how you should place the hydroponics because there is a really efficient way where you use almost all the lighting space of it

You've mentioned that you are new to the game so I figured I'd give a heads up since this colony was lost. Raids scale with your "colony wealth", the combined worth of everything in your colony including silver. This is why you had a *huge* raid is cause you had over 9,000 silver. To combat this, many use "killboxes" which abuse the enemy AI to give you a good defensive position. You might already know this but I figured I'd give you a heads up just in case.

You can assign auto slaughter so if the duck population reaches an amount your colonists slaughter the older ones, it makes animal management easier.

Never really realized how good Rimworld story content would be, idk if this is a new genre of Rimworld videos but it’s reminiscent of minecraft story videos made in game. Even if this was mostly a meme, it was kinda cool seeing a story play out, aweosme video and you should do more ! I subbed to you😊

The thing is that hydroponics can grow without sun lamp, so you could unroof that room and grow all the stuff without a sun lamp

it is better to grow dandelions in an animal pen, they grow faster and the only thing that matters is growth speed

Thanks for the advice, I assumed that there was a better method than expanding the pen. This was my first time taming anything besides muffalos, so I was CLEARLY in over my head.
