I started training martial arts at the age of 12 in 2002 and for years before starting I studied and watched van damme for hours and hours and I still say to this day this is the man who made me want to do martial arts forever and ever I will be grateful for these movies and man what an iconic legend

He was in ballet just to learn how to stretch and that helps, the helicopter kick he has is some what of a pirouette that he implemented into his martial arts👍

I also grew up watching Van damme in the late 80s when I was 10 years old at 35 I entered the martial arts competed and earned my black belt in Taekwondo in 2015 .... He inspired alot of us !!

One of the most inspirational movies I have ever seen. I still love watching it till this day I hadn't seen this movie in years until the first of the summer when it came on Netflix makes me want to train better myself I've noticed a lot of younger people say these movies are corny maybe compared to some today but back then it was more realistic I guarantee you a lot of actors today could not do the stuff he did without all their stunt Doubles and technology. Movies just ain't the same anymore.....
