I had a herd of milking goats (sorry Justin) cuz all the kids had an allergy to cows milk so it was easier to raise what we needed and to help clear the land. A variety of good milking cows wasn’t easily available back then. Whenever took a trip I always came home to one with mastitis and it was a bear medicating her. I give you a lot of credit for your patience cuz I was kicked so hard dislodged my knee cap. The pain was incredible but had to finish the job cuz that’s what ya do when raising animals. Later after surgery on knee and all healed up I was gifted knee high boots and wore guards as protection for next big kick. I always said my luck ran out and if I was to survive in older years best to protect oneself. Just a warning you are really needed and maybe protect your body along with healing Lyme disease. We all get a lot of bruises but once in a while it can be so much worse. I’ve been amazed at all the hard work you do and always make it look easy and give you a ton of credit for making the impossible possible. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

If you have someone pull her tail up and over to the side where the tip of her tail is along her spine that should prevent her from kicking. I noticed you all had it raised but you have to curl it up over the back. 😀 I showed cattle for years and that’s what worked for us.

We give a couple few tablespoons of Dolomite and powdered Vitamin C mixednjn the soaked pellets or straight in the mouth for about 3 pr so days. Clears it right up. Dolomite is about $6 for 50lbs at TSC it's the blue label bag, not the green

This works with horses, but if someone holds the front leg on the same side up, you will be less likely to get kicked. Just a thought.

A suggestion for your cow teat treatment...If your helpers could lift up the rear leg on the other side from where your working (you're injecting from the left side, so they pick up the right rear leg), then it shifts the weight to the other side. Or if you're helpers can't lift the back leg, try an opposite front leg. The cow (or horse) cannot kick with the leg that's still on the ground. I've trained a lot of horses over the years & that's a technique I used with great success. Have a blessed day!
