You can take the four bolts on the side of the real off and turn it around if you wanna position the stop at different spots.

I have used PEM in my garage but of course you need to make sure that you do NOT have warm air from the compressor going out. And in my case its cooled before entering the hose. Those i have is max 16 bar and my compressor is max 8 bar out so its far off :) proper distribution of air and electricity is so important so you dont haver to pull long extensioncords everywhere. Put an outlet instead :) Good Work!

I mounted my two hose reels at 9’. I’m 6’6. I do like your idea of regulators at each reel. The reel up front the regulator could go on the manifold allowing the reel to be placed at any height or orientation. Complements on a very nice work space.

@Zero To Awesome Something you may not have thought of by moving the Air Compressor is your delta (difference) in temperature between the inside of the Tank and outside the tank. You've now created a higher Delta Temperature between the two. Which now means more condensation inside of your tank because of this. This means it will rust faster if it's a steel tank from the inside out. Just make sure you are emptying the tank after you are done using the compressor for the day; this should help mitigate this issue. You could install an air dryer between the compressor and the tank to help reduce this issue even further.

One thing you need to seriously consider when getting a knockoff water hose from china is if they used formaldehyde anywhere in the process. Generally that is the most costly step in purification so they just don't do it. Look up the katrina mobile homes, dog food processed in china, cheap clothing etc. If you have even the slightest bit of acidic water it will leach out as the water runs and kill your plants/ruin the soil.

You should consider getting a new tank. After seeing at that water come out and you saying it's been 2 yrs since you drained it, that tells me you have a bomb waiting to explode. It's eroded on the inside, and you don't know how much of that metal is left. Look up compressor explosions, that might change you mind on keeping that tank.

I just mounted the hose reel I had lying around for a while to my garage ceiling last week. I also added an air regulator dryer by the compressor. I would suggest changing out your 1/4 fittings to High Flow, it really makes a big difference especially with the distance you're running. I used Flexilla brand, they also have cheaper aluminum ones.

If you ever upgrade to a two stage 220psi compressor, you will wish you used PVC or cpvc. And it is so much cheaper.

Not to start a pissing contest, but read up on using PVC for air systems. Most authorities advise againse it due to the dangers of the pipe shattering. Yeah, I know. Some have used it for years with no issues. Do your research then decide.

I like checking out new stuff and I hope it works well for who uses this type system. I have installed several types of systems on jobs, my theory is the K.I.S.S. method "keep it simple stupid" and use what I already use like In my house that I already have stock for saving space but that's just me.

Simply put from a 30 yr Master ASE never run over 120. Never have seen nore that that used even for Heavy Equipment or Aircraft (KC-135). I do realize compressors are a bit noisy but over 35 years of listening to them is far less annoying than using my EVO choo saw.

@@ZeroToAwesome it's pretty great - I can adjust time open up to like 10s and time between opens up to 45m or something? The hosing is terrible because it whips everywhere 🤣 but you can connect to something more rigid and it'll be fine. But it does get surprising when it suddenly pops and hisses 3' away 🤣

I installed a different brand 5+ years ago. No issues with the o-rings. You can buy the blocks that you can mount the tubing from the rear. One item I would like to change on my system. I would like to add a shutoff valve prior to the block. Sometimes my oldest reel will leak at the rotary union.

Thanks for the link for the piping system, will be doing this shortly. As soon as I get my new compressor. As for the pipe through the wall, why didn't you put the distribution block higher and make the entry through the wall closer to the reel?

I could’ve but I wanted the blocks on the compressor side to be the same height. That’s just where it worked well for both connections

On the reel by the man door, did you consider mounting it higher and then cocking the reel stop to face straight down? This would have mad it less likely to bang your head on it. Otherwise, looks great!

@@ZeroToAwesome Ah yeah. Forgot about the regulator. I like the idea of putting that one on the distro block and moving the reel up. That does put the regulator on the wrong side of the wall though. Maybe just mount the regulator to the wall, shorten the whip that runs through the wall, and then attach another short whip from the regulator to the reel... Or just leave it and see if you ever hit your head...

Worried about running more than 150 PSI??? Even with intermittent impact forces you'd never realistically need more than 120PSI in a home shop. Many air tools are damages at more than 90 psi even so really no reason you should even have your compressors regulator higher than that. Outside of industrial machines I don't think I've see anything that needs more than 60 even for a constant pressure. CFM on the other hand is a different thing but high CFM = low pressure as its constantly flowing and doesn't build up pressure until stops flowing.
@factory48motorsport
@factory48motorsport 4 ай бұрын
for the most part I agree with you but there are exceptions. for example my tire machine specifies 200psi from the compressor and 150 at the machine regulator.
@matthewmoilanen787
@matthewmoilanen787 4 ай бұрын
@@factory48motorsportI would really be concerned about that kind of air requirement because as a 30 yr Master ASE I have NEVER seen an industrial use of press that high. Virtually every shop, dealership whatever I've worked at has never run more than 120. Most air tools can't use that pressure and no shop would put individual regulators at each hose connection point. You may want to double-check that requirement as I've even worked on Semi truck and trailer tires that expressly recommend against that much pressure. I was also an Aircraft Crew Chief and even those tires weren't inflated to those pressures. I'm fairly sure you must be talking about CFM wich is cubic feet per minute of output but not the pressure.
@factory48motorsport
@factory48motorsport 4 ай бұрын
@@matthewmoilanen787 Instinctively I’ve always believed that recommendation was too high and I’ve only ever had my system set for 120 from the compressor and 120 at the tire machine. It’s a Hunter tire TC3500 and there are 2 labels on it one that says max pressure 150psi and the other states what I told you. you clearly have more experience than I do though and I’m glad you have confirmed that my concern was justified. thanks.
